Yeah me too. Got 1 rebate check for $140, depositing it today! Ended up selling the 8meg cache drive to a buddy for a bargain price of $90 (back in april). We both came out winners!
HyperX should work fine. I got a 512mb hyperX 3000 (183MHz) ram, and it does 204mhz 2-2-2 @ 1.63v ! And btw I have an a2 stepping of the 8rda, no complaints out of me (my trusty tbred b 1700+ @ 2600+).
GRIPES: It's a great board, just make sure you have a long enough floppy cable & No onboard...
yep.. my 1700+ is running at 10.5 * 200fsb (=2100Mhz aka 2600+)!! On air cooling => SK-7 with a 80mm fan (panaflow!). Gotta love it (bought it for 49 back in february).
eh.. just ordered an 8rda from newegg for 88+5shipping (+stupid cali tax). i think i killed my kt3 ultra2 overclocking my 1700tbred 'b' to 2600+. (I swapped out cpu's, yadda-yadda-yadda, etc to no avail). It only turns on and can't load winxp or boot off xp cd or even a floppy even @ default...
analog or dvi makes no difference w/ghosting... the connection just provides a 'clearer' color display (no need to convert from analog to digital -which is hardly noticeable to most). a 25ms response time is actually really good.
i got a dell 171fp a while ago and that has a 25ms response time, and i did not experience any ghosting, and the 1800fp has the same response time, so i imagine it should be great for gaming! ;)
