What I'd like to do is make a shell script that would automatically rename a file based on the date variable. I'll have crontab run the script everynight at midnight
so say I have podcast-currentdate.xml and at midnight of that date it would get renamed to podcast.xml and overwrite the...
I did the repair install back to SP1 and it still kept doing it, hopefully someone else has better luck with their phone staff.
I know this isn't the best way but I do own a legit copy of the software but a pre-cracked install disc was the only thing that stopped it from asking. MS's own...
After 46 minutes on the phone with 3 different people, getting put on hold a total of 8 different times, the conclusion is.....
MS DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM!!!!!
a repair install is all they can suggest. But they are not sure if it will fix the problem.
i finally got a day to call MS, I am currently on bounced transfer #3 to Windows XP Support
I started out 25 minutes ago wtih XP SP2 Support, who send me to Customer Service to get a new activation key which of course did nothing.
This is asinine. I'm doing their quality assurance work for...
It did it again today, and of course I'm not awake during their support hours and he gave me the 1-888 number from above even though I explained and made it clear that it's activation issues. Lemme know what happens and see if I can adjsut my hours to call them or if it's a fix you can share.
I have XP home running on one computer and EVERYDAY it asks to be activated, I had to call in and get it activated because it wasn't working online. but now every time i boot up I have to re-activate it, fortunately it works with activation online, but it's been done 4 times already and after I...
Ok, I have 4 CCFL tubes, 2 blue 2 UV and one dual inverter. I want to wire up a switch that would allow me to chage from one color tubes to the other using this single inverter. Thinking about it I would probably need two switches though, but then could have one of each color on.
However I...
I hooked up a CCFL inverter to a 12v 1200mA ac adapter and got the inverter to produce blue smoke :) Tried finding info on how much power I should be sending to them but last time I asked no one knew.
Looks like a smokin' deal though (pun semi-intended)
you try running XP Recovery Console and using chkdsk and fixboot, I had a Quantum and a WD both magically lose their boot records but was able to fix them with recovery console.
Never had a problem with my Seagates though.
Just because the bus speed is faster doesn't make the drives any faster, they still have the same bottleneck of waiting for the heads to move and retrieve data. But how much faster could it make it, maybe 5 seconds? 10?
You don't need much for an audio machine, unless you plan on recoring more than 12 tracks of audio at a time.. even then you still need to get a card for it.
our Midi machine here is a 700mhz Athlon with 512mb of ram, the digital audio workstation is a AMD 2500+ with 512mb of ram and the 5.1...
Quiet compared to the Vantec on my other Athlon. it runs at about 3k rpm fan speed where the Vantec is 2x that. But lets just say my power supply is louder than the AMD stock HSF.
