How do I change the IP of an HP LaserJet 4100DTN?

Change the IP byte 3 and 4 to the values you want. DHCP would work, too.

Everything appears fine, the only thing that I have problems with is my Nostromo N52 gamepad. It recognizes it, but the game software to configure it can't.

Logitech G7 can't back on FIREFOX

Just that it's another button on the mouse, I think. Who knows why Logitech called it that. I don't know, but I don't care because that works. Maybe someone else here has some more information on that.

Gaming: X2s better than Opterons?

I know that City of Villains recognizes dual core systems, so I'm interested in seeing what happens. I have an x2 4200+ (stupid me, should've went for the 4400+ with the 1mb cache, but I digress) waiting for me at home for me to install tonight. Can't wait to see what it's capable of.

PCI S-ATA-Controller for optical devices ?

I can confirm that my a8n-sli deluxe is supporting my Plextor 712sa SATA DVD burner on the sil3114 chipset. Have not had any problems burning anything (at least problems that weren't caused by me in the first place).

Graphics corruption on EVGA 7800GT

I'm getting the same thing on my evga 7800gt. If I go into the video properties/advanced/troubleshoot, move the hardware acceleration slider down one notch, apply, and move it back, and apply again, it appears to fix the problem. I'll get rivatuner tonight and see if I'm getting the same...

20" widescreen or 20"??

I have the Dell 2005FPW (20.1" widescreen) and I love it. DVDs play beautifully, and games also look fantastic! Playing City of Heroes, City of Villains, and WoW all look great! And I have a 15" Samsung SyncMaster 152n for general browsing while I'm playing on the main screen.

You need to partition and format it from Disk Management. My Computer won't list it until you have it partitioned and formatted.

Outlook 2003 files?

You can use the 'import and export' feature of outlook on the file menu to export your messages to a .PST file. When it gets to the point of asking you where you want to save the file, just give it the drive you want to put it on. I have done this several times to save my emails....

Win XP Quick Launch Toolbar Question

The bar is locked. Right click the taskbar and there is an option "Lock the taskbar". Uncheck it, if it is checked, and you should be able to make changes. You should also be able to create shortcuts on the quick launch by just dragging the icon onto the bar.

How to share a cable connection through a network

On 2kserver, I think you need to install routing and remote access to do the ICS chores. I never set it up on my server because I have a router that does the routing. All my server does is DNS/AD and DHCP.

SATA hard drive power connector

I have a SATA drive that does not have the traditional 4 pin connector, but it does not draw power from the motherboard. It still draws it's power from the power supply.

The most irritating network problem I've ever had *Now FIXED!!!!!*

Delete the bridge. I've seen it on computers where they didn't need a bridge, removed it, and they were golden. Try removing the network bridge and see what happens.

XP; rename Admin. acct. & logon w/o typing password

That would be correct. You can also right-click on 'my computer' and then go to manage and get to local users and groups there. You cannot delete the default administrator account, you can only rename it.

Need help with setting up a JetDirect Card (HP LaserJet 4+)

Likewise, I've never had to mess with the jumpers on any jetdirect card that I've installed. All of the configuration is in the control panel of the printer, or using the jetadmin software that you can download from HP. That software can discover the jetdirect card and allow you to configure it.

Unhappy MX700 Buyer

In the mouseware, I found that by selecting the options 'button 4/back' and 'button 5/forward', that I am able to map the keys to any game I play.

How do I recovery a password from a NT/2000/XP machine?
