I guess this forum is dead. I have asked two questions (8/17 and 8/25) without a single response. This is a good thread, to bad it is so dead. Time to move on.
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit. I currently have 3 GB of RAM installed. My question is: Will this motherboard and this OS allow me to use 4 GB of RAM? I am using BIOS 1201.
If so, what brand of RAM have you found that will boot right up and not require any voltage...
I hope this is the right place to ask this question.
I need to reset the CMOS on my P5W DH motherboard. Can I do that by turning the power off, unplugging the power cord and holding the power button in and then just moving the jumper cap 10 seconds? Or, must I also remove the button...
I have a nVidia 7650 card in the orange slot. I would like to edit videos on this system and so I am wondering if I can install an ATI AIW card in the black slot? If so, how do I switch from one card to the other?
I assume that the answer is: You can't do this.
Thanks.
I like to use scannow to repair my copy of WinXP. This is the procedure that I follow when I do the scan.
Insert a slipstreamed copy of WinXP-SP2 into my CD ROM drive (HotFixes are not intergrated into the slipstreamed CD). Open the Run window and type "SFC.exe /scannow" and hit OK...
Thanks Boscoh. Your reply was first rate. It really cleared things up for me.
I was wondering what router do you use?
I am thinking about getting the Motorola BR700 (price at NewEgg $53.00) a wired router. It has SPI/NAT and other security features that I am interested in getting. I...
Thanks for the info.
I also use ZoneAlarmPro and according to one of ZA guru's, ZAPro has SPI as a security feature. So, if true, as long as I use ZAPro I don't have to be concerned about finding or using a router that has SPI.
I just hope that the Guru knows what he is talking about...
I need a new router and have been investigating the security aspects of routers. I have noticed that a few consumer routers have SPI as a security feature.
Is SPI important for a home user? Is it worth the extra $$ for this feature?
The routers that I have found with this feature include...
I messed up during my install and somehow I have two WinXP OS on my PC. One on drive C and the other on drive E. I don''t want the copy on drive E. I have tried deleting the extra OS, but the system tells me the files are locked. What is the best way to get rid of the second OS.
Thanks.
Thanks for the info about updating BIOS from within Windows. I am still using 1.0. Have not updated since my system is running great. No issues at all. I just run at default settings, so overclocking issues are not something that I experience. I have decided to wait a while until MSI has...
I have the MSI K8N Neo2 with AMD64 3500 processor and 1Gb of OCZ 3500 Performance RAM. This combo has been running great from day one. Started right up from power on and installed XP in quick fashion. Just install everything by the book and you should not have any problems.
I am using the MSI K8N Neo2 with AMD3500. Combo runs great.
I am not sure if I like the nVidia drives, but other than that it is great!
I did need to remove SP2 and go back to SP1. I had lots of problems with slow boots and other things.
