Question Overclocking FX 6100 worth it?

Thanks for the response ikachu. I'm the same way with forgetting unused languages. I went and learned basic Perl but without having to use it it'd be lost on me now. I guess for now I'll mess around with both, hopefully finding a project before I get too heavily invested in either one.

Anyone have any success slowing down older games to play on WinXp ?

I've used DOSBOX for awhile now and it's a great program. I still use it for master of magic/master of orion and a few other games. Oddly enough, before I got dosbox I'd boot to Linux to run any old DOS game.... I had that speed issue trying to play the Art of War. (was unplayable) Days...

My Rock Band guitar's...

One quick and dirty way I noticed the double strumming was on the song list. If I would (moderately) strum up and down, the highlighted song would slowly move down the list... so each move down was registering more than once compared to the exact same action upwards. At least that's the best...

Ever find yourself hooked on older games?

Master of Magic (PC) Magic:TG (PC original, not MTGO) Civ 2 (PC) FF7 (and other FFs to a lesser extent) FF Tactics Tony Hawk on dreamcast (not sure why...hum) Sports games in general seem to go streaky for me, picking up an old hockey game and playing it heavily for a month or two, etc...

The $399 model won't at all. The 80gb version has software emulation for PS2 as opposed to the actual hardware inside the old 20/60gb versions.

Well, that's certainly part of the reason. I play most FPS's on a PC which takes away a huge chunk of the big name games on the 360. I think many other gamers are similar. I can fire up Bioshock on the PC but FF13 is only on the PS3.

Oh, I can relate OP. Factor in the fact that I've been on a MMORPG kick for several years (recently quit WOW) and I have a mental stack of games on my "to play" list a mile high. While I'll try to hit up a few single player games, I still don't know which multi-player game I'll invest the time...

Civ III or Civ IV?

My big complaint with "updating" some of these great games is the confusion that more complex = more fun, which just isn't so. Civ 3 is a classic example of that. In 50 years chess as we know it will still be played, no need for new pieces or new board shapes. I look at 90's Microprose games...
