Anyone know what can cause a operating system to just delete itself? Ran scandisk and says unable to read drive. I can see the d partion just fine and they are the same hard drive. It was working just fine this morning. Thanks

What if they are all on the same domain? For instance comp.net 123.comp.net 234.comp.net Would it matter which one is first?

Can anyone shed some light on this for me. Running windows xp, under DNS APPEND these DNS suffixes(inorder). How does this work. If I have 2 applications that need 2 different ones, which goes first? Does it matter what order there in? Thanks

Radeon 9700 pro

Can anyone tell me if there is a diagnostic tool to see if a card is failing? I'm having lock ups with my Radeon 9700 pro when playing games. Also, when I first turn on the PC, the Monitor has a hard time coming on. Not sure if it having a hard time to get a signal from the video card or not...

Slow systems

Thanks for a quick response. The systems are IBM Netvistas model 6794-nuu. The hard drives are 40 gig 7200 rpm, maxtor, ibm drives and WD.

Do you know of any good diagnostic software? I am mainly looking system board and Video. I have A giga-byte 845pe 677 ultra motherboard and ATI 9700 pro video card. I just lost 2 hard drives and wanted to see if anything else was burnt. I think it was hit by a power surge
