I have seen these drive for less than $175, I am thinking ~$150 with sales, live.com, coupon trickery.
Could you just take it apart and have two 2TB for like $75 each?

oops, forgot link
No regrets on computer parts. If you do any price shopping before making a purchase, you did your homework. Pricing is crazy on this stuff.
"I remember paying $100 for a 1gig compact flash drive, that was a hot deal for a week"
Only lesson I have learned is to wait and keep checking...
I am not in a "huge" rush to get more space, I already filled 1.5tb with mostly backups of dvd and a few songs.
I saw a RAID 1 1TB WD My Book something or other. Obviously there were two 1TB drives inside and it was for like $150 or something. I almost bought it figuring there is no reason...
6% back from live.com.
Do I pull the trigger or not, I have a $100 target price but this is darn close.
I started a new thread because I saw reference to this deal in threads that were hijacked.

Also cars inluded in large corporate "fleets" will often be totalled by the insurance company in order to keep large clients happy. I know a guy that got a full sized Hummer with a salvage title. It would be hard to total a brand new hummer, but this thing just had a small dent and broken...
They just wanted to verify my amex info since shipping was different than billing. Servers should be there to setup at the colo today. I can add ram and stuff later if needed.
Had a voicemail from geeks.com but they just asked that I call them back about the order. I am not sure whether to call or not. I want my servers.
Online, the order still shows as "Processing"
Lucky me, I got two just before OSS, better be realtime inventory.
They have one listed on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...1215&_trksid=p3907.m29
Shipping is a little higher but still a good deal.
Only problem with that is I am not exactly sure how you would file a class action law suit or get the FTC involved in a case where the rebate company is outside of US jurisdiction.
I followed the directions so I don't have to worry. It was printed in plain English so why would you not do it?
Anyone that did not circle will probably get shot down unless they made copies. No circle, no copies, no rebate most likely.
i signed up for this a couple of months ago. this reminded me to check and see if the $100 has been credited yet.
It does not like my version of firefox though
You're using a browser or operating system that can't take advantage of all the features at citibank.com. For the best online...

I can provide more links to people getting shot down but if you don't follow the directions, you are probably out of luck.
Did the "5000" rebates specifically stipulate that you circle the price?
This seems to be a new requirement so that they can refuse to honor rebates submitted by people who cannot follow directions.
I have seen many people whine about rebates getting shot down because of not circling the price paid as instructed. I doubt you will get your money. I could be wrong but I have seen it many times on these and other forums.
Where are you guys checking your status?
HERE???
Don't worry about warranty stuff. Just say "it doesn't work". Don't bother telling them anything about 3rd party fimware upgrades or anything. Just stick with "I dunno, it doesn't work".
I have opened a few products and used a nail clipper to neatly clip off a transistor, diode, resistor...
Will this keep three or four 1U servers running for a few hours (just the servers, no monitors)?
Is there a better deal/solution out there or should I jump on this?
Thanks, the site says it takes either ECC or Non ECC but they suggest/offer ECC, Registered as compatible. Now my question is, is ECC fine or does it have to be "Registered", "With Parity" or will "non-registered ECC work? Just from reading around, I have seen that RAM can be ECC but not...
Your link does not work.
I stuck my four sticks in a Dell Dimension 9200 c2d running Win2003 Server Ent and the system booted but the screen kept flashing and locking up. I tried with just two gigs and it was faster than ever. I think one of the sticks might be bad (one of the two that I...
yeah i tried one stick in the first slot. No go. Doesn't make sense to me though. It "should" work.
anyways that was just a shot in the dark, i thought that they had to be installed in matched pairs.
it's not a pc, it's a server.
Anyone? I do not see why this does not work. I checked the docs and it should work. Checked for an ECC/Non-ECC jumper and nothing. Tried clearing the NVRAM, still nothing. It doesnt beep and nothing appears on the screen. I have tried putting the sticks in various slot configurations and...
Anyone see any reason why these would not work in a PowerEdge SC1435?
http://www.crucial.com/store/l...model=PowerEdge+SC1435
Crucial says that they do not have to be ECC as long as nothing installed is ECC. The system came with two 512mb ECC chips.
The SC1435 does not even POST with...
I just got my $100 from the previous Bank of America checking account deal. I opened it online with no problems or need to send anything signed in the mail or fax.
I was looking at just buying two eight ports to acheive 16 ports but the switching capacity and frame forwarding rate are MUCH lower.
For $75 more I can get double the ports (24) and much higher switching capacity and frame forwarding rate.
I am a Cisco guy but this is for a startup with...
Considering the features:
Web Managed
VLAN support
QoS support
Port Mirroring
Jumbo frame support
Link Aggregation
Switching Capacity 32 Gbps
Forwarding Rate 23.7Mpps (often overlooked spec)

my 600m from two years ago is still going strong but it fell from my couch onto a carpet foor. Landed on its base but the LCD cracked. It is only on the side so I just work around the bad spot. The machine runs great but the construction is lacking due to cheap plastic.
My IBM Thinkpad T43...
Hmmm, I wonder if this has it's own OS and processor (Linux would be awesome) or does it just have an onboard RAID card and USB controller.
Just thinking of hacking possibilities.
