My 6809 has the hinge cracks on both sides. I haven't really worried about it since it is accepted as cosmetic and my screen is pixel perfect. But I was also wondering about those that sent thiers in for repair. It's been a while so now I'd like to ask how they are holding up. Did they just...

Thanks for the input guys. I'm gonna call and see about getting it replaced. As far as it being compatable, it is the one from Outpost others in this forum have used so I don't think that's the problem. Thanks again, BobL.

I got the 1 gig mem stick mentioned above and was all excited to get it installed in my 6809. I stuck it in, replaced the battery and powered it up. All it did was beep 4 or 5 times and then sit there. Don't know what that POST code is trying to tell me. Stuck the original memory back in and it...

Has anybody tried to boot from a 'removable' drive? I have a Dell desktop and used HP's boot utility to make a USB drive bootable. This boots my Dell great (after a few minor edits to some .bat files). My M6809 just goes into XP even though 'removable' is the first item in the bios BOOT list...

Does anybody know where to buy an additional HD tray that will fit an M6809? If I was to upgrade the hard drive I was thinking it would be nice to have the original mounted in an additional tray ready to slide in for whatever.......may be crazy........but figured I'd ask. BobL.

Man this sounded good...........unfortunately it did NOT work for my M6809. At least not according to CPU-Z. Are you using ALL the stock drivers? BobL

Yep, did that...just no "PowerNow" tab. It installed as I can see in running in "Services". BobL.

Well, I downloaded the new PowerNow, installed it in Win2k compatability mode. Did a reboot...........same problem. I set the power to 'Always ON' and verified that PowerNow was running as a service and was started. I did NOT have a PowerNow setting in the Power Options like the faq indicated...

Yes, I did reboot. Both CPU-Z and SpeedswitchXP show it slowing down.

Howdy all, I decided to get the m6809 after reading here there was a fix for the cpu speed slowdown when on batteries. Well, I applied the Q330512 hotfix posted above, set my power settings to 'Always on', even loaded SpeedSwitchXP.....but.....the devil persists slowing down when on batteries...
