What is the best solution to my video card problem?

Go to Rage3D.com and try the different (or should I say mass amounts) beta drivers they have. One of them should work for you. Happy hunting.

THen it's probably not worth spending money getting a KT133A chipset then if you think about it. Just get a T-Bird to upgrade your Duron. Besides, check out the homepage to see this article on how acheiving the 133FSB on KT133A chipsets is not 100% achievable.

Uh I'd probably go with DDR motherboards and DDR RAM since you already have a KT133 chipset motherboard. Making the jump to KT133A ain't gonna get you drastic performance increases IMHO.

Radeon and Anisotropic texture filtering = bad image quality?

Read that anisotropic filtering in OpenGL doesn't actually work with a Radeon? Read here. I feel slightly cheated.

ACS45.2 + more speakers?

If you look under the spec sheet for that card, you find that it DOES support 4 speakers. For cheap, yet good sounding speakers, look at Labtec speakers.

Anyone having issues with Via and a Radeon?

Got a Radeon on a Asus A7V. No problems with Rage 3D's drivers. No problems with my Triniton monitor either. Very happy. :) But dude, have you guys read about the Kyro II?

I think my Kenwood 52 True X is dying. Recommendations for a new CDROM?

I've heard about all the problems with this thing and didn't believe them until now. Nothing installs and my comp freezes everytime I try to read stuff from a CD. Any recommendations on a CDROM drive? Relatively fast and quiet?

Yea, if you're using DHCP, assigning an IP manually yourself will probably prevent the DHCP server from assigning a proper IP address for you.

recording digitally onto a MiniDisc Player

Um...ask him? What program are you using to record MP3's? Mind doesn't either, but if you're using Winamp, download something called WinCue. It puts however many seconds separation in between mp3's automatically. Then you can add track marks later.

I used to use 1290X960 on my TNT2 but when I got a Radeon, that resolution was no longer supported so I started using 1290X1024. Amazingly, I can hardly tell the difference and when I use Powerstrip to create 1290X960, it actually looks strange to me! Funny thing... I think the best resolution...

Oh come on!!!! SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME EXACTLY HOW TO REMOVE THIS SUPER ORB!!!!

My Athlon Computer :( help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! plz.....

Check your heatsink/fan. If it's broken, not in contact, installed incorrectly. Might try changing it. 65C IS pretty hot. Vid card seems to be running hot and that's why it's making lines.

all you guys with 19" monitors, what reso's are you running?

Before I got my Radeon, I ran 1280X960. But now I can hardly tell the difference at 1280X1024. Things are a little bit horizontally stretched out, but I got used to it real fast. ;) Oh and I think you mean 1600X1200 Alphanumeric?

And I can't run CPU speed test or get ANY 3D Marks WHY?

Just downloaded 3DMark 2000 unregistered. Can't run CPU speed test nor get ANY 3D Marks after running the benchmarks. ??? Windows ME Athlon T-Bird 1GHz Via 4.28 4-in-1's Radeon 64MB on 7089 drivers All the benchmarks run fine but no CPU speed test or 3D marks. Any thoughts?

which new radeon drivers to get??? 7078?? 7072???

I'm using the 7089's. Supposedly they increase 2D sharpness. Looks good here. However, FSAA IS broken on these drivers, so that's one thing to know. So if FSAA is important to you, use the one below 7089. If FSAA is not important to you, use 7089's. Oh yea and 7089 is for 98/ME ONLY. Remember that.

I ask because I just bought a Radeon 64MB from a user here at Anand, but it's an engineering sample. I've asked others who have also bought the card and they say they see it sometimes too. Now, I'm not saying that user is selling defective cards, but I want to know if this is a common problem...

Ok, I'm worried. I have a Athlon T-bird 1GHz, Radeon 64MB DDR @ 183/183, 256MB of Crucial Cas2 RAM, SB Live!, blah blah blah, on WinME and I got an average of 26fps on the advanced settings @ 1024X768X32. Uh...I'm assuming that's pretty low for my setup. Any ideas why? I'm using 7089 drivers...

Okie...here's a toughie...which one is better: OpenGL or Direct3D?

I just got a Radeon and I'm really confused with all the registry options and stuff I can do with this thing. But I noticed there are a lot more Direct 3D settings than OpenGL. Yet, OpenGL seems to work better than Direct 3D in more of my games (Half-Life, Hitman). So...I'm like kinda confused...

Exactly what does "Fast Z Optimization/Clear" do for the Radeon?

Because when I enable it in Direct 3D and play Half-Life/CS/Firearms I see like transparent textures or something. Little chunks of textures look misplaced or something. Hard to explain. Using 7089 drivers and Direct 3D in Half-Life. V-sync is off. I tried playing around with the Radeon settings...
