Asrock socket A motherboard ?

I've built several systems using the K7S41GX and all work very well. I've used both XP and Duron processors. The onboard video is pretty poor but so far they have all been very stable using WIndows XP. For my money, much better than the ECS lower end boards.

HOT! Toner for samsung 1710 for $63

There is a firmware update from Samsung that is supposed to help the light envelope printing. My toner ran low after about 600 pages and wouldn't print an envelope at all until I refilled it. Some have commented that the update help though. Rex

I haven't used this service but the last time I had something shipped to me USPS it took 35 days from Iowa to Texas and they wouldn't even let the shipper trace it until 30 days had passed. Carrier just brought the package to the house, nothing marked on the box that it had gone astray or...

Well, it finally died. The machine the Celeron 300a was installed in was acting a bit flakey a week or so ago but a reboot got it going again. Today it was totally dead. It might just be the Asus motherboard but either way I'm reluctant to put and $ into it with so many other processors and...

NIC Bridge cable

I'm not sure what your calling a bridge cable but what you need is a crossover cable. Both PC's need to be in the same workgroup such as MSHOME or WORKGROUP. Each needs to be assigned an IP address within the same subnet, such as 192.168.0.1 subnet 255.255.255.0 and 192.168.0.2 with the same...

Site to ID Motherboards?

You can try shorting two of the pins beside each other on the pins block till the power supply comes on. If you can get so far as seeing the BIOS number when it boots up you can get it identified here, Motherboards.org If you can find a part number on the board itself you might get it identified...

MB Recommendations for home server?

I think if I was going to build a Celeron machine today I'd opt for the new P-4 Celerons on an Intel 845 board. Ultra stable and reliable with much better speed than the older Celerons.

For all you case modders: 16 piece hole saw set for $9.99

Their jig saw using a metal cutting blade will zip right thru thin case metal. Those hole saws aren't going to work very well on metal. Put masking tape over the area where you are going to put the hole, mark the hole on the masking tape, drill a 5/16 or so hole to start the saw and just zip...

Asus P4S533 bios works on P4S333

You can get Asus Probe to correctly report the temps by editing the AsusPB.ini file. At the end of the file it reverses the temps, just delete those few lines and resave the file and restart probe.

I think he meant that Windows will want to reboot twice as it finds changed hardware. I hope that's all it is anyway, reinstalling twice would be a real hassle.

two 56k's?

Diamond did make one, I think I still have one around here somwhere. It's two modems on one ISA cardand it will multilink under Win98 if your ISP supports it. It didn't work well for me, one of my phone lines is just so bad it was always holding things back. Rex
