Dell Vostro 400 Heat sink fan / replacement

Hey, thanks for the response. It does actually have a PWM fan, but I'm not able to set anything in the BIOS. I might just take out the mobo to see if it has a backplate or what. Does the stock intel cooler use a backplate, or does a regular 775 mobo have a stock backplate? Thanks! EDIT...

Dell Vostro 400 Heat sink fan / replacement

Hi, I recently purchased a Dell Vostro 400, and I've enjoyed it so far but the CPU HSF is just rediculously loud. It only has an 80mm also, so I figured I'd go ahead and replace the entire unit. It definitely has the standard mounting holes for the HSF, but the screws that hold the unit down...

I don't think that I should need a program for that, but I didn't see anything specific on that thread really. They talked about how to work with a mac mini without digital input (the g4 flavor) I tried to use garageband to input the stream, and it works fine, but there is about a 2 second...

Yeah my ipod input works fine with audio in, and like I said the 360 inputed into my audigy on my PC so that works too, and I've tried 2 different cables too. Thanks for the quick reply, btw

How to hook up xbox 360 thru pc audio

Heres my setup: Xbox, vga output, either digital audio or red/white audio PC w/ audigy 2 external unit klipsch 2.1 speakers connected via regular mini jack 2005fpw dell monitor I have the xbox hooked up via vga right now, with my pc via dvi, but I don't know how to get the audio to work...

If you want to spend that much, I guess that's fine, but I would recommend just holding on to what you have and getting a new video card (like an agp 6800gt or x850xt - whatever is pretty cheap) and selling your old one - what you've got should be fine for a little while longer if you want to...

My guess is it's a sensor error - if its 60C, you wont even be able to come close to touching it so I'd just try that out like Missing Ghost said

The hardware is old, yes, but panther isn't old at all. I should just be able to hold c or option, but neither one does anything at all for me. Should I try using a PS/2 keyboard? I'm using an apple USB keyboard right now. Anyway, I'll take a look over at ARS.

Hey, A friend of mine recently gave me an old power mac of his. It's a G3 B&W, but I've been having trouble trying to boot into OSX. It has 10.3 on it right now, but every time I turn it on, it just sits there on the gray screen with the apple. I've tried to get it to boot from a copy of OSX...

The 2nd link would be overkill. That fan moves more than enough air and would be quite loud. Even @7V, it would still be pretty loud. I would go with the first fan, but that heatsink is definitely the one to get!
