Memory problem

My current MB is an Asus P4S800D-E... and Asus claims I should have no problem running 2 gigs. So, I'd need to underclock my memory further to 166? I'm not sure that's even worth it... especially since I was considering OC'ing.

New system instability

Surj - just curious, I've had the same problem with the dwwin.exe shutdown error message. Also running WinXP SP2 with 9.0c (and Cat 4.11). By chance do you run any Gravis software? And did you ever figure it out? (Check my post in this same forum for a list of things I've tried.)

Thanks for the reply.... So I could make a partition on the larger drive so I'd just be using the 36gb drive and (about) 1/2 of the 74 gb drive? What I'm thinking is I'd also install WinXP on the other partition on the 74gb drive - basically I could multi-boot into either the Raid configured...

I'm in EQ2 beta and run a p4 3.0 with 1gig DDR 400 and a 9800Pro. With the video setting to "Balanced" and no other tweaks, the game runs pretty well (except for lag issues and problems in certain zones not related to my system). So, I can say a P4 3.0 will work fine and, by way of comparison...

Connection without broadcast?

Yeah, I used Artic Silver 5... I'll give it a week or so and see. If my temps don't drop some, should I consider removing the HSF, cleaning up, and trying another application of AS5?

9500 pro still worthy ?

You can flash the bios on the 9500 Pros (almost all are locked). I got mine up to around 300/285 with no problems... but that's not that big a difference over the stock 277/270. Rather than start trying to add better cooling, etc., I just upgraded to a 9800 Pro - they're priced pretty well now...

I just replaced my P4 stock HSF with a Zalman CNPS7000A-CU. Although my idle temperature went up a few degrees, my load temperature is down a few degrees (and this is with a fan speed of 1,700 vs. 3,500 at load with my stock HSF). BUT I noticed that my motherboard temperature (Asus P4S800D-E)...

9800 Pro problem

I have an Antec TruePower 430 PSU... It does it every single boot... I got a reply from Emailing Sapphire's technical support and the response was it sounded like a hardware defect. So, I got an RMA from NewEgg and I'll try again next week when I get the replacement. Thanks.

Thanks for the advice... I'm going to try to confirm tonight that it's the CPU fan and if it is I'm going to go with the Zalman. SniperMerc - I noticed you have a Zalman GPU cooler with a slim fan attached - that's the other reason I want to upgrade my CPU HS&F because I just ordered a 9800...
