I had a 2.4 ghz not overclocked with a 350 watt enermax power supply and was getting all sorts of problems. As soon as I switched over to my Fortron 530 watt power supply all my problems went away. I would much rather spend an extra $50-$75 on a better power supply than have to deal with not...
My mom has an 8100 I just upgraded. Hers used 16 bit pc800 rambuss modules. It should say on the heat spreader what they are but I ma 99% sure that they are 800Mhz. Also not sure what prices are goin on ebay but a single stick of 256 is $97 at newegg of course you have to get a pair.
My DSL line comes through my modem then to my Dlink router (DI-624) which I have 2 computers hooked to that. I have a wireless laptop connected to the network. I want to add my Xbox and another PC to the network in my living room. What I want to add is another wireless device and hook that...
All you need to do is find someone that works for Intel in Fab 20 that doesn't want there 2.4 unlocked northwood. ;) I have a pair but would not part with them.
My 2.4 E/S didn't overclock well either. I am building my second one tonight and hopefully will have better luck. I really havn't tried all that hard though. Hey Wingznut another year and we get another one. I have the advantage that my wife works there also. a p2 350, 2 xeon 400's, 2 p3 1...
I work for Intel and occasionaly they give us unlocked processors. (I actually saw one for sale here not too long ago.) It has actually caused us a lot problems with buying boards for them. Many boards just do not like the fact that they are unloack for some reason. I bought 4 boards so far...
I am running a 2.4 (multiplier of 24). Supposedly it is unlocked but my board only goes up to a max of 24 so no way of really using that feature unless I want to underclock it.
Shalmanese, I am not sure how AMD runs things but at Intel it is very important. Each factory that runs a certain process is matched to one another exactly. Intel uses a procedure called "copy exactly" that transfers the process from the fab that first makes the product. Each factories tools...
I have been overclocking my p4t533 and noticed a lot of FSB issues. Like I had running solid at 117 Mhz (I have 100 Mhz chip) I tried to go up to 118 it didn't work so I dropped back down to 117 and that wouldn't work now I had to drop all the way down to 110 and thats where it has been...
I will try reseating the memory. But generally it would at least power on without the memory seated properly. I fully agree with you on the 2 different boards with the same problems as probably being my fault, that is why I asked here first before RMAing it. I am getting some really good...
I have a nice 350 watt Enermax. I had to buy her a new one because hers didn't have the P4 auxillary connector. I am connecting both connectors and have tried both PS in both computers.
Ok i built the the Bigabyte board outside of the case still no power. I tried updating the Bios on the MSI yesterday no luck. The Cmos jumper came with none on. The manual says that is how it is supposed to come. I cleared the cmos then put the jumper on the other 2 pins no luck. I am going...
I have built several computers and do not know why these boards are giving me so much problems. Heres my story. I got 2 2.4a northwoods recently. I ordered 3 boards a new ps and 2 gforce 4 4200s. I am building 2 computers (1 for me 1 for my wife and the third board is for a friend who is...
Flashed the Bios I know I have the right socket board still no success. No the other board I have won't even power on. I am going to try and swapp processors and I have 1 extra board to try after that I will be pretty much stumped.
I was going to mention that in my first post that CPUid said it was running at 1.2. I will try updated the Bios but have my doubts since it is a 533 fsb board that is fairly new.
Thanks for the help I will keep trying.
Just got an MSI 645E Max-c with an Intel P4 2.4a. I hooked everything up and it says it is running at 1.2 ghz. I played around with the FSB and got it running at 1.4 but that is a far cry from 2.4. One other question. This is my first PC with DDR, would it affect it if is only pc2100?
I have...
The type of performance gain you will get depends on what you are playing. Some games use more of the cpu power to run i.e Unreal Tournament. Some games are more GPU dependant like Quake III. But either way all games will see a boost going to a Geforce 4. As far as the reviews concerned, it...
Do you know where to get the Asus P4T533-C with the Raid? I have been to Asus's site and it says it is optional and I havn't found a place that sells it with it. The only problem with the TH7II-raid is that it has a 400 mhz FSB and doesn't support 1066 Mhz rdram. Any other ideas? Anyone?
I am getting a 2.4 gig Northwood soon and am looking for a board. I would like to get one that uses 1066 rdram but also has built on raid controller. I have been looking around and hasn't seen any yet. Anybody know of one? I would also like built on lan and 6 channel audio but it is not...
I have been using the Belkin 5-port router for about 6 months. I havn't had any problems with it. It was a little bit easier to setup than my old Linksys one (but my linksys one was a pwice of cake too) I say go for it. I don't think there is much differece between routers in the sub $100...
<< Well fair enough, it's only the packaging - but its hard to deny statistical evidence - the c300a malay was statistically a much better overclocker than it's counterparts from different plants. Maybe it's much of a muchness on the Northwoods, due to mfg technology being better now, but there...
I don't think I would switch back to 5400 rpm drives. The other day I was installing XP on a 5400 rpm drive I thought it was going to take all day. The only time yo will noticee a diference is when installing and if you do any intensive read\write to your hd.
Lets see if this works: UTCD It is disc 2 (since I lost the first one) Does it count? If it doesn't work, go to Text and click on my photos. Sorry about yahoo but it is the only place I can think of.
<< Wow! I haven't done a ATOT scavenger hunt in a long time.
Here are some pictures of ME!
PICTURES OF MYSELF
Just go there and click on any of the links on the left marked "Slices of Self, Panel 1" All 9 of those pics are me!
(I know that ATOT is not in the pics, but trust me, it me.) Enjoy...
I am trying to tweak my DSL. I was looking at Speedguide.net and DSLreports and looking at the tweaks there. I was going to use one of Speedguides patches to start out with but am unsure which one to use. I am using Win XP pro, and A belkin router, over PPPOE. Now there is a patch for PPPOE...
Lots of time Occotillo and Chandler sites are lumped together. There are Fabs in Chander\Occotillo. Fab 22 and Fab 12. There is also a really old one next to the Assembly plant. I don't remember the name of it though. I am pretty sure it is not in use anymore. Fab 15 is on Aloha OR. I...
<< actually chandler is a manufacturing site...it is a full fledge fab...I believe fab15 and another one coming on line...
All of intels development fabs in the us I believe are in Oregon at the Ronler Acres site...DIB was converted to a full fledge fab last year, and I think is the site for...
Intel also has an assembly site in Chandler AZ. It is used mostly for development. I have never heard of any processors from there being sold anywhere.
<< This is in no way disagreeing with pm, just wondering if it is possible that a deficiency at one plant could cause the heat spreaders to...

<< I have at my house ar 2 1gig ... A P4 1.5 and A tualitin 1.2. >>
If you got all that, why'd you need to mess with that i810 board and a Celeron 600? If you got so many CPUs, why just not change the board? >>
That is the reason why I am getting rid of it I have all that stuff (also...
I figured out that it was the chip (it worked fine a year ago when I pulled it out so I assumed it was good) I put the processor in another computer and it did the same thing. So my next question is will a celeron 850 work? The motherboards Processor support page says p3 500-850 100mhz bus...
I have an Intel CA810 motherboard that I have been working on. I have replaced pretty much everything but the board. My questions are 1. The owners manual says ppga processors. I am using a FCPGA 600e. I remember putting a FCPGA in an 810 board before and it not working so I think that...
