which nforce4 939 boards truly support 4GB RAM?

haha. I'm only planning for the future. I'll only be starting with one GPU and an Athlon 64 3200. Another video card and dual core processor will come much later when it's time to upgrade again (and when they're cheaper). And I only need 2GB more RAM and it's cheap.

ah, that sucks. 64-bit windows would be awsome for my audio work but unfortunately my audio workstation is also my main PC. I couldn't do much else if I switched to the 64-bit version. EDIT: unless..... maybe I could dual boot?

I'm using my PC as a Digital Audio Workstation. I use a lot of VST instruments so I need as much memory as possible. 2GB doesn't cut the mustard when I'm trying to load a full orchestra. I've actually thought about going server-based (Opteron) so I could have more room for RAM in the future but...

removing an OS from dual boot

I posted a comment earlier about this problem here. Basically I think I've screwed up my boot sector. I think my ultimate question is, once I've created the dual booting, is there a way to eliminate the seconary OS and fix the boot record so it doesn't look for it? Thanks!

Okay, update... I can access the old partition if I select it fast enough. If I'm not fast enough, I get an error for a missing dll file. I think it's trying to finish installing Windows on the new partition. So...do I need to fix the boot sector and if so, how? I can get into the old windows...

I goofed. I have XP home installed on one partition. I installed a new hard drive and wanted to format it so I booted from the XP disk and formatted it, then quit without completely installing Windows, thinking that I could just go in and delete the temp files it put on the new partition...

abit nf7-s dual channel query

I just checked my manual and it will run at 200mhz with 2GB. But with 3GB it will be forced down to 166.

removing ramsinks with adhesive tape?

I bought some OCZ ramsinks for my VGA memory. They've been on for a couple months but I need to take some of them off so that my new VGA Silencer will fit. Could I just start from the edge with a razor blade? At least it's not adhesive paste... thanks!
