Rift - your setup and average FPS

If you want some free FPS without losing image quality, use your video drivers to enable AF and disable it in game. I saw a pretty significant difference, as did several of my friends who made the same change.

24 inch IPS or 27 inch TN?

I suppose this comes down to preference, but in my personal experience text looks great on this 32". I use it for my main display for gaming as well as general PC use.

Check out the 32LG450. I really don't understand why more people aren't excited about this thing. Other than having deal with a panel lottery (both myself and a coworker ordered from Amazon and got the correct panel) you're getting a 32" IPS for much cheaper than any computer lcd. I have mine...

Yes and yes. I have a Dell 2707wfp sitting next to it that I spent like a grand on a few years ago and the LG is every bit as nice. There's a few key "issues" with the LG though, so I'd recommend looking at the thread on AVSforums. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1257131

I picked up a 32LD450 a few weeks ago also. Had to go through the same thing with the EDID fix to get it working correctly, but now it looks amazing. It replaced a 37" Westy that was starting to have issues and it looks considerably better. I also have a Dell 2707 that I got a few years back...

New Intel SSD drives are in!!!

I clicked the eBay link to take a look, then was in the process of getting there from Bing.com and could only find the drive for $270. Refreshed my initial window with the eBay link and it was at $270 also. So, they bumped it 20 bucks in the past 5 minutes. :(

Placebo effect. The fact that the setting wasn't present in your config file indicates that it was using the default setting, which is 3.

I have this exact same issue on my secondary LCD (2707wfp). I just assumed it was the LCD itself failing and planned to contact Dell about a replacement. I'd be interested in hearing if you find a solution.

My requirements were similar to the OP and I ended up going with a CM Stacker STC-T01 and have been very pleased. I'm not sure if they are still made though, so you may have to do some digging, but it's an option. I was able to order a side panel with a window for pretty cheap and the case...
