    Persisntant Malware Popup problem

You can try BugHunter too which is included on the Ultimate Boot CD. You boot from it and scan that way so nothing can hide from it. It doesn't detect all spyware though so it is to be used in combination with other things like mentioned above.

Thoughts on 2009 Corolla SE vs 2008 Civic Sedan EX?

I've known people with piece of crap Hondas and Toyotas too. Fact is that it's not common for any of them.

    What is Quality of Service?

It means "My WoW is more important than my torrents." And DD-WRT sucks at it without console voodoo done, by the way.

Why the sudden focus on street racing over the past few years?

Let's ban cars, planes, trains, thrill rides, and anything else dangerous. That said, I don't necessarily condone street racing. In fact, for the majority of circumstances, I do not.

Thoughts on 2009 Corolla SE vs 2008 Civic Sedan EX?

Neither car is exactly manly, though Corolla is indeed worse in that respect. I fail to see why the OP doesn't consider other cars like a Malibu, though.

Will a mechanic easily find flood damage?

Minor unless it's improperly taken care of. My car is a 99 and is driven in the winter here in MA including during snowstorms (if they fall on workdays) and is not garaged and the underside is surface rusted but the engine still looks pretty damn good.

In addition, by supporting DD-WRT, you're supporting a guy modifying GPL code, not releasing the code even when asked, violating the license. He claims that he can just change the license when he modifies the code. And then he sells it for $25 a pop. funny, considering DD-WRT started off as...

    HTPC Hardware Needs?

The newer Intel GMA x4500 plus a 3x watt Conroe-L should be a better solution (IE lower power) than AMD once Intel respins it's G45 chipsets to make the video work properly. The newest AMD Semprons are 65W which is absolutely ridiculously high for an HTPC.

I don't believe graphs are the only things I mentioned. Please stop having selective vision, and then go Google Tomato vs. DD-WRT. Landslide victory for Tomato. Just about every link prefers Tomato.

    Clutch sutter/skipping. Diagnosis?

Does the clutch engage with the pedal any higher up than before, or does it otherwise tend to slip where it didn't slip before this problem? About motor mounts, just have the car in neutral, e-brake on, and open the hood, car running. Pull the throttle a fairly good amount. The engine should...

Will a mechanic easily find flood damage?

Aluminum does not rust. It turns to aluminum oxide which is white in color and will separate easily from the aluminum, often as a dust. It also doesn't go deep like rust in iron does. It forms a barrier so once a bit oxidizes, that's it. Don't clean it off or it will just happen again and you'll...

    Underbody rust spots

Zero Rust is similar and comes in regular spray cans and is also cheap. Rust Bullet is supposed to be the best of the 3 (though I have not personally used it) and I believe comes in paint cans like POR-15.

It gives you more classification, it shows you graphs, it lets you easily set bandwidth limits for each. In DD-WRT, without digging through the console, I tried specifying certain things to low priority (or whatever the one just above bulk is called) and it was slowing them WAY down even when it...

How to setup a Network Server for Computers in a Small School

Well, one should run Untangle, one should be a domain controller (which can also have a network share with whatever software you guys use, legal copies of course), and one should have lots of storage and be used for backups. A single 48 port 10/100 switch with a couple of gigabit uplinks...

    Mileage on a Toyota

Toyotas all last 300k. GMs and Fords only last 80k. This is the rule. Seriously, you only hear this about Toyota/Honda because they are the type of people that like to talk about how reliable their cars are whereas us high-mileage GM owners are just "yeah, whatever."

To all those that say the tough guard Fram oil filter is ok...

The ONLY Fram filter that doesn't suck is Extended Guard. Not tough guard, not extra guard, not any other Fram. I still prefer STP, ACDelco, Purolator, Mobil, Wix filters. I normally use STP or ACDelco (which are the same, but STP is I believe $.50 cheaper at my Autozone) alkemyst: There...

Do you think I should turn the rear rotors too?

Rotors rarely warp. 90% or more of the time, the problem is the brake pads heating up and leaving deposits on the rotors. But turning the rotors does raise the chance of them truly warping as you are removing surface area from the rotor. The most important thing is to get a quality brake pad...

    Underbody rust spots

When you paint it, you can use something like POR-15 or Zero Rust or Rust Bullet to make damn sure it won't come back in that spot. There's also rubber underbody spray you can try. But the most important thing is to get the surface clean first. (Note: Some people say the underbody spray can trap...
