How about Dual Duals... :) AMD 275's inroute, should have them up for the company in 14 days.... :) I'm drooling to see what they can do... Got 3 servers coming in...
Awesome Mondo... You sure have made a big dent in PrimeGrid. You and KMMatney seem to be drag racing. Looks like he is keeping you from catching hims as quickly. A good race to watch.
Thanks for all the support, you rock...
With out an ounce of push back the team rolls over Austrian Boinc Team. Bringing us up into the 5th place over all.
Looks like Team Picard is our next over take, based on the last 2 days performance, should happen mid-week.
Team Alianware is in 3rd place, with an overtake looking about 1...
We're on the move... Looks like before the end of tomorrow, we'll take down the Austian Team BOINC. Then on to Picard...
Good work team, way to go, and thanks for the boost mondo.
End of the day... Heck, I see this really bright light getting bigger in it now... I think its the sun racing me down... Well guess I need to put the pedal to the metal... Lets see what other machines I can add, fortunately looks like your still a week or 2 from catching me. That is at this...
From what they have said in their forums, they dont care if you use Vmware. I tried it, it does help but you need a pretty strong machine, as it is very memory intensive. I was only able to run 4 processes when I did it.
Those that are interested, watch us hunt down a couple of our main opponents.
Prime Grid Stats
We should run over SETI.Germany by tomorrow, and over take Austrian BOINC Team before the weekend is over... This is getting fun... :)
Wow... Mondo has taken 1st place for the day with a whopping 3200+ point already for the day. He has moved the team in a daily position of 2nd. A while with this production, and he'll have them all running for the hills...
Congrats and thanks for the help Mondo... :)
Beer for The...
OK, the team is currently holding 4th place, but XtremeSystems is about to kick our butt in less than 7 days. Turn up the steam, we need some help to not fall backwards.
Just an asked for update... :)
The team in now normally running 4th on daily stats. Currently we are 7th overall, and should be seated in 5th before the end of the month.
Several team members have turned up the heat with the project trying to stay ahead of Mondo's hoardes which have...
What happens when you do a manual update on the Opteron? You may have your % settings for BOINC set to where it won't update till that machine has used it's % of time for other projects like seti.
Checking on something. I got this error using the optimized BOINC client. But when It updated for the 2nd time if worked ok. Are yours fixing themselfs?
1/9/2006 11:02:08 AM|PrimeGrid|signature verification failed for msvcr80.dll
1/9/2006 11:02:08 AM|PrimeGrid|Checksum or signature error...
Looks like all the files are getting there. When you do the install as discribed in the last paragraph does it function correctly?
Looks like you have everything but the final.out files which it creates when it is running.
Interesting, so your saying the Opteron with the same basic cache and speed is that much cooler than with the X2s??? Does your X2 have a similar cooling setup?
I'm looking at watercooling some of the new boxes for work. We were going to go with Opteron 275's, in a 3U rack mount. Quiet sounds...
Which modified agent are you using? I have tried a couple, but did the original install with the offical client, then over wrote the software with the updates client.
Seems from what you are saying is that it is just doing this with the thrid party client right?
I just looked at several of...
Rytis, and I have changed up the setting on the server to allow more network priority. Look in your log since 4pm EST and let me know if you are still getting any network cannot be reached errors.
I'm not getting any but I dont know what the load looks like on your side.
From my reading I'd keep it below 48, here is an Anandtech member thread, similar system.
http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=28&threadid=1761935
Hope that helps.
I've got an email into Rytis, on some changes to the cache for WUs. Give us a couple days to get it worked out please... :)
{EDIT}
And BTW: your pressure on the servers is a help to PrimeGrid. PrimeGird is a test platorm for the testing of a PERL based BOINC system. So this is a good thing...
Infamous Mondobyte to Primgrid, his post stated a 10% warlord participation. This should greatly help the Team.
We are currently in 7th, but based on monthly stats we should be in 5th by month end.
I'm about to be trying some new equipment for a Lending App we are writing, I'll be adding...
I'm agreeing with Mondo... It's out in space either junk or a Satilite. If you stare skyward for about 3-4 minutes you always see 1 or 2 passby at high speed.
(And thats a Yanks story to keep our spy ship secret) ;)
Bye Polo,
Wow... Sorry to see you go, maybe we can talk you into helping on one of the new boinc projects soon.
Good luck and dont be a stranger, errr.. stranger than me anyway... :)
Bye for Now.
Here is a bit more on this... If I could I'd pay a programmer to optimize PrimeGrid for NVidia...
Look at page 3 of this presentation from Stanford.
http://graphics.stanford.edu/projects/brookgpu/GH03-Brook.ppt
They claim a P4 @ 3ghz gets 6 GFLOPs vs. an older Gforce FX 5900 clocking...
As AMD proves its how well it is designed not how fast the electrons move.
This could shed some light on using GPUs for Math:

And more technical:
