I have the same motherboard and processor. Getting the same problem.
Install SP2 -> reboot -> machine reboots over and over. don't even see the Windows XP screen.
well updating my motherboard bios to version 1.3 kind of fixed my problem.
Now it displays a temperature of 44 idle instead of 61. Except it only fixes it on a reboot. If I just turn the computer on, it says 61 again. WEIRD!
i'm having a similar problem. AMD 3000+ 64-bit processor, antec sonata case, ati radeon 9800 pro, MSI K8N Neo motherboard.
My cpu temp is running between 61 and 66 Celcius.
Pissin me off!
wow. thanks for your help guys. yeah, 9800 pro is getting a little greedy I know. Thinking that I might be doing some video editing also, so thats why I mentioned it.

Most claim to be systems that were ordered and not used, then sent back to IBM.
