I just finished installing my 4 hard drives in my Lian Li PC-V1000. I have the drives staggerd and a 120mm fan is blowing across them. I also just finished installing a NV Silencer 5 on my eVGA 6800 GT in hopes to get it over 1050/390 that I had in my other system I removed it from. It went up...

.wav files can be very large aeternitas. Has anyone ever witness a 4 Raid 0 array before? A long time ago I think CPU mag built one.....of course I couldn't find the mag for the life of me.

Recommend me a socket 939 AGP motherboard for overclocking

Athlon XP 3000 runs very hot

It seems to me you have other issues rather than heat as mentioned by kiwi. It very well could be a RAM thing. What RAM are you running? You shouldn't compare heat ratings to other CPU types. They have different cores and thus different temp ratings. My Thermaltake Volcano 12 extreme is...

You guy's really got me thinking. What if I pull a Maxtor 9 120gb from my old build and put it on my IDE and use something like Norton Ghost to make backups. If something was to happen, I could just boot off the IDE right?

Which is why I went for that 155 buck item. Who knows how this price thing is going go anyway. All's i know is that I'm not going to buy a REAL expensive CPU from any ol' vender....know what I mean. ;)

Athlon XP 3000 runs very hot

I've been running 47c for over a year now with a Volcano 12 HSU. I have taxed the hell out of it and it has never gone over 53c. Stock case fans in my Cooler Master ATCs case. This is going by the ASUS Probe utility.

I think it's safe to say you must have the heat pipes going up. It works on the principle of like a boiling pot of water with the lid on. The hot gas's rise to the surface and when cooled on the lid falls back down to the surface. The thermal past is there to fill in the microscopic gaps...

Thanks again....great info. Now will SATA be DMA enabled if they are independent thru the onboard controllers? I do mess around with video editing. So would that benefit me with the OS on RAID 0?

when I restart I get the message "system failed do to overclocking"

It's sounds like to me you should go to all default settings first.......most importantly the ram!!! Not all Ram is supported or compatible to all individual mobo's I believe. Go Auto and Default in your bios and start from scratch.

6800 gt, 6800 ultra any difference?

I'm thinking about getting a 6800 GT by eVGA...can I clock it with Powerstrip to make it go Zooooommm!??? I just got the latest CPU mag and the 6800 really kicked butt against the ATI 800's as far as I can tell from their benchmarking. My new Asus 9980 card was DOA and New Egg is refunding...

So I got this card from newegg and and thought it would be a smooth install. I installed it along with a new power supply Pure power 560 and all is well with power. With the manuel it says to install the windows Standard DisplayAdapter (VGA) but its not in there. Just all my FX5600 drivers...

The effects of overclocking on RAID

Is my Asus A7N8X deluxe locked? I sure hope so because I've been messing around with this nifty CG-NVNF2 software that has my 3000+ barton 333 clocking at 2262.42 CPU and 174.03 FSB. It shows on sisSoftware SANDRA as being right there with a P4 3.2. I have 2 250gb Hitachi IBM sata's running in...
