Sound Dampening for WD120G HD high pitch whine!

I have the exact same hard disk and had the same problem with the noise. I solved it by buying a Samsung 160GB hard disk, and having windows shut down unused hard disks. Now the system is much quieter.

Why Does a New Case make my system extremely unstable? UPDATED!

The most likely cause (as it seems to me) is that the heatsink is not sitting properly when in the Antec case. The most likely cause of overheating is a badly seated heatsink, and if you're noticing it's tight, then maybe something in the case is blocking it from going all the way down...

(front) intake fan - yay or nay ?

If you've got filters on your front intake, then it's usually best to have a little more intake airflow than exhaust - that way you can be sure the only air going in is going through the filters (otherwise air will come through other gaps in the case and as such lead to more dust).

Good case with excellant cooling for mad air cooled overclocking.

I'd look towards the CM Stacker - up to 4x 120mm fans, and 3x 80mm fans, you could get some excellent cooling going. Especially with the front and side being practically all mesh. I have only set up with 3x 120mm case fans, plus a 120mm on the xp-120, all connected to a fan controller - works...

Fan speed - cfm - db question

If you ran a fan at 50% power, its rpm and cfm should halve, however the sound level (dB) would not halve. It's hard to predict exactly how much it would reduce, but it would be at least 3dB (the equivalent of half the noise level), but probably go lower due to less rattling from lowered speed.

Looking for a case for a new system...

Not sure where in America to get them, but here in Aus most places that have the Stacker have the 4-in-3 modules too. The case does come with one, btw. And they're pretty cheap too ($25AU, ~$17US), and they come with a 120mm CoolerMaster fan too. I love how much room there is in the case...
