That is a very good point.
My 9600xt that I just picked up today came with a voucher for half life 2 (when it comes out). I figure its about a $40 value making the card price around $100 after rebate / game.
I had a rather interesting experience at Circuit City today, so I decided to share..
I walked into Circuit City and made my way back to the graphics card area. The 9600xt's were all behind the anti-theft locking glass display meaning that I would have to locate a manager to get one. I...
For all of you that missed out, I strongly reccomend checking out the superior ViewSonic LCD.

Exactly! The Sony Xbrite technology sucks. You should have read some reviews before running out to impulse buy that new Sony.
I applaud you Oxides. In the end you finally ended up taking my advise. Now just think of all the time...
Oxides-
You are all over the map here. I have lost all hope. I don't feel the need to waste any more time or energy debating. I know that I am correct and you are wrong.
Have fun playing EverCrack with your new 'high ventilation' reflective ('like an ancient crt') sony display.
Who do you think I am??? ViewSonic Tech support..... heh, do your own homework. I will drop a hint though - PowerStrip. There is no doubting the specs, the ViewSonic has a better refresh rate and pixel spacing than the Sony.
Don't even get me started on this one. You have no experience when...
Using the DVI cable there is no reason you would need to use the "manual image adjust" feature. DVI-D interfacing means that the image is reproduced perfectly geometrically.
Even if you somehow needed to adjust the image, I would gather that the Sony would do the same also.
And come on...
$669 for the Sony vs. $599 for the Viewsonic. Might as well buy that uber-expensive DVI cable (which I am sure you can find for less than $30)
Now lets check out the side-by-side features of both:
? Pixel Pitch .294mm for the Sony, .264 mm on the ViewSonic
- The ViewSonic has a much finer...
From what I have been hearing that sony XBrite technology sucks. The black mirrors and doesn't look good at all. I am extremely happy with this VX910 19".
Also the dot-pitch is actually better on the ViewSonic compared to the Sony.
Good luck trying to PM Frys. I was able to get out the door with 2 drives right when they opened. I went back later in the day and they were well aware of the 1 per customer limit at Frys. Oh well... As always YMMV.
agent2099:
Name a 19" with UXGA 1600x1200 that tops this LCD.
1280x1024 is perfect in 19" I just upgraded from a 17" using 1280x1024 and I can tell you first hand that reading text is easier than ever now that things are slightly bigger. Larger resolutions are crap for productivity if you are...
I never had any problems with rebates from OfficeMax. I will have to see if ViewSonic doesn't come through. I have a strong feeling that they will though. :)
can you rotate the panel?
No, you can't.
is the lcd height adjustable?
No, not unless you stack books under the stand.
It is one killer display though. Very bright.
