Thanks OP. The free-after-rebate epson printer that's been sitting unused on my floor for the last 2 months is actually going to make me money now. sweet!
<warning - I am not a electronic engineer, or very smart, so this may be a stupid 2 questions> :)
I just bought an extra AC adapter (power brick) for this laptop, and the power adapter brick which just arrived was not identical as the one that came with my laptop. The label on the back...
I saw one person mention they are thinking of loading XP Pro on it. I need XP Pro, and am concerned about having to format, and install, and then install all the drivers. Since no recovery disk is included, is locating those drivers a pain in the rear? Or does Acer make them available online...

I was going to buy these a few weeks ago, but I'm glad I didn't as the price recently dropped 20 bucks. THX certified. They sound great; it's almost as if Def Leppard were playing live right in my computer room! :laugh:

Thats OP. I new it was a good idea to hold off on making a personal purchase at Staples until now or after christmas. 15% off of an $89 purchase, thank you very much!
When I was working in retail, we had to check for this sort of thing. People would try to return some computer memory, having swapped the real thing with their old ones. This is probably a case of that, where BB didn't verify the contents before re-shrink wrapping it and selling it again.
Maybe I'm having a bad day (I am unemployed and haven't used my brain in quite some time), but I'm not seeing how $43.03 was arrived at. The price difference is $10. 10% of $10 is $1. So my math tells me that the price matched $44.99 minus the $1 equals $43.99. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I'm guessing it will be as much of a disapointment to me as Return To Castle Wolfenstein was. Both games play off those great old memories you have of playing the original games for hours on end. Ahh, I remember 4 way Doom2 games on a BBS.
I wish FarCry would get down to the $19 price range...
I still have the eCost rebate PDF sitting on my desktop. PM me and I will upload it to a website for you.
::edit::
the reason for asking you to PM me is because I thought linking to rebates is frowned upon in this forum.
Thanks. I may have to jump on this if Buy.com fails to ship the one I ordered by the end of the rebate period. My last status from Buy.com is that they are "still looking" WTF
As it has already been mentioned, Radio Shack has an adapter to convert one size plug into another. You can also try plugging the headphones into a cell phone, because most of them use the smaller sized plug. You obviously won't be able to talk to other people on the cell phone, but it would...
When you are ready, call them up, and ask if they will still honor that price. They might. When I bought mine (group buy at work), the price had jumped back up, but since the company bought a bunch of them at the cheaper price, Dell allowed us to buy more at the low price.
I bought this about 6 months ago, at about the same price (a couple of us at work did a group buy thing, and Dell gave us free shipping (all monitors were shipped to our work address)). I run windows at 1280x1024 without any problems. I know I'm not taking full advantage of it, but I find this...
