I've had an account for almost 2 weeks now and I haven't received a single invitation. I've sent and received about 100 messages and logged in every day.
My friend, who signed up a day after me only sent/received about 5 messages and has received an invite after 5 days from activation.
My...
This is hillarious. People buying lots of 20 gmail invites on eBay and then trying to resell them individually... I bet PayPal will get most of the profits, eBay gets listing fees... maybe it's just feedback whoring.
Might be a better idea to give them even less time, say 3 hours.
Some people have many auctions running, maybe they have one that's about to close.
I got an invite a few days ago that I still didn't use though. I use it to check username availability for friends and have no intention of selling it.
I have my profile set to display 100 posts per page, so for me page 41 is the last page. I guess it depends on your settings. As long as you can see the last posts, you're good.
That defeats the whole purpose of gmail. The idea is to have a fully searchable 1GB of online storage, grouped emails, etc. You might as well use any other POP3 ISP without any difference.
I wonder how long before Google opens up for general signup. I think they are doing the invite thing for psychological reasons. If you think something is hard to get, you want it more. Did anyone see the South Park episode where Cartman had his own amusement park?
This is ridiculous. I see people on ebay selling hundreds of accounts with auctions ending every few seconds. I can't believe Google isn't doing anything about it.
