nVidia GT200 Series Review Thread

Wasn't it Nvidia that said they were gonna decrease the cost of GPUs to the masses, when they were talking about the 8800GT/8800GTS (The 512mb versions) and the 9800's? What the hell happened?

Well if AMD/ATI are pushing back the date to coincide with another product instead of pushing forward the date, does that mean that AMD/ATI know something we don't, like possibly they know they probably won't beat NV at the performance area, but definitly will beat them in the performance/price...

xbox 360 Running at 1080p on my 24 Inch LCD looks like crap!?!

You need to have an Xbox360 Elite to output true 1080p with the HDMI lead getting stuck into an HDMI plug on your monitor, all it is doing is upscaling a 720p image to 1080i not 1080p even tho your monitor or even the 360 might say it is doing.

Nvidia confirms PhysX hardware dies

So the GPU will offload its spare cycles to calculate Physics.... so what happens when the GPU might not have any or very little spare cycles... no physics???

Problems! Blank Screen when booting up, but everything is booting!

Nope, in the manual and on the motherboard, the one at the top is the primary PCI-E Slot, then the bottom one then the middle one. I Think it could be a compatibility issue, or something maybe to do with SLI, or something, its not really much of a problem, i just hope this doen't happen when...

Problems! Blank Screen when booting up, but everything is booting!

Ok just found a solution to all this.... for some reason, my 8800GTS doesn't work in the PCI-E 16x number 1 slot.... nor the number 2 slot.... but in fact only works in the number 3 slot.... WHY!?!?!?!

Medal of Honor: Airborne performance perview

Runs bloody great on my old 1900xt and dual core E6600. 1650x1080 with everything on full and it ran at a constant 30fps and above. Thats a heck of an improvement in optimizing for the PC compared to R6 Vegas where it ran crap even with half the settings. I found the game to be great fun...

Just finished Bioshock

I hope this helps rather than degrading your second time around, but you can go into the Bioshock directory and play the second ending scene, or in fact all of the cinematics if you want to know what it is like. Its run on a bink file, so you don't need any programs to run it.

What about the Ultras in SLI, been told that they dont work too well together? As the ones i wanted were the BFG OC2 or the EVGA ACS3 and none of them are in stock and i can get Ultras for around £30 more, so it aint too bad on prices.

My X1900XT doesn't seem to want to go out of 2D Speeds

I had the exact same problem as you, sygzy, with the exact same GPU. Do what Matt2 said, he sorted out my problem. And yea have you checked the ATI Hotkey Poller, mine doesn't work for some reason and i had to make 2 seperate settings, a 2D and a 3D setting in ATiTray. And then get the 3D...

Unfortunately, Id's marketing staff are piss poor at getting devs or publishers on buying the technology.... unlike Epic, which they have, what 40 or 50 games coming out in the next 2 or more years using their engine. I just hope Devs and Publishers will decide to use this technology!

So...what positives can we take from the HD2900XT launch?

The positives we can take away is that with the drivers maturing in the next few months that this card will definitly edge out the GTS640 and move up to the GTX but probably never beating it but being closer to it than it being closer to the GTS640.

They have also had the boards for quite some time with over 100 hours put into it, so it might not even be a retail version but an engineering sample or not the right version of the board thats supposed to be released. But again its all speculation until the NDA is opened

Ok i havent tested it but i think im being a bit of an idiot, in msconfig i have a selective start up as i dont like my task manager being cluttered up and i think i disabled it in there forgetting what it was supposed to be doing. I think it should be working fine now, just gonna test it!

Definitly fullscreen Just dling the newest version. Or it might be the monitoring graph not showing the right clocks, would there be a sure way of finding out. Also i just used ATI Tray Tools to overclock everything to the right 3D clocks but it did the VPU Recover, everything went blank...
