there should be an option in the screen saver settings (from the menu you would choose preferences>screensaver). if you click on the settings there is a tab that has power settings, or something of that nature, and you can turn power saving options on (stand-by, power-off the monitor, etc.)...

i'm thinking about buying a mac in the next few months and putting linux on it. i don't plan on using OSX at all, does anyone know if you can get a credit for it, and how i would go about doing that? or will i just have to sell it online? edit for better wordage, hopefully.

i have a AMD athlon 64 3400+ and i've noticed that it will get up to 47 C under a normal load. is that too hot? i have the stock heatsink and fan on, but i'm thinking about upgrading so that it'll run a bit cooler. i'd really like some feedback because i really don't know how hot is too hot...
