Any suggestions would be much appreciated. We tried booting into DOS with a PE CD and renaming the file so it wouldn't run on boot. Got an Access Denied messaged (in DOS!). Couldn't change the attributes, access denied.
I believe it starts once the update starts, but after unpacking the files for the service pack I get the error, and the upgrade cancels. I've tried in safe mode as well, same problem.
Getting an error saying wuaucpl.cpl is running when installing service pack 4 on w2k. I can't find the program in the task list. Tried closing all of the processes I could with no success. Nothing related to wuaucpl in the reg startup.
How can I get around this?
Just as a change of pace. I've never used Linux before, but I'd like to learn it. Will Windows applications work with Linux? Most importantly, will Macromedia Studio MX 2004 work with Ubuntu?
Would it be possible, with a pair of raptor 74gs, do install XP on one drive and Linux on another and...
I'm sorry but, "fORM" is an idiot. Despite his misinformation, the use of the phrase "owned" and his jabs at americans really makes him unqualified to offer any kind of rebuttal.
bsobel is correct in pretty much every point I've read, and fORM is generally wrong.
Or, I could take fORM's...
I set up a raid array with striping for the first time, with a pair of 74g raptors. I always thought that two drives in a raid 0 array would total just one drive in space, so two 74g raptors raided would give you 74g. However, the total size of the drive is 140g. Was I wrong?
I'm looking at the Soltek K890Pro-939 or a board with Nforce4. As I understand it, they're both pretty balanced. Does anyone have a strong opinion one way or another?
My dilema is this; I have two raptors set up in a RAID 0 config and I'm attempting to install XP on said config. I'm using a MSI Neo Plat Nforce 3 board. I don't have a floppy to install the external drivers with (never figured I'd need one). I downloaded the necessary drivers from MSI's...
Just got my second 74 gb raptor today. My question is regarding whether or not I should set them up in a Raid. I'd do Raid 0 for performance if I were to do so. I'm not concerned with backup so therefore I wouldn't consider doing Raid 1. Would there be any noticeable performance boost with Raid 0?
Basically, I haven't used linux. Ever. However, I've heard good things and I'd like to give it a shot. I'm just sick of windows, basically.
My question is simple. Will programs made for Windows work with Linux? Games, office etc, or will I bet SOL? Is there a WMP10 equivalent for Linux...
Not sure where this would go, so I'm posting it here as well as the networking forum...
Situation. There's a laptop with no CD drive that's connected to the network through a built in NIC. The drive needs to be completely wiped and a fresh OS installed. No data backup necessary. How could one...
Situation. There's a laptop with no CD drive that's connected to the network through a built in NIC. The drive needs to be completely wiped and a fresh OS installed. No data backup necessary. How could one format the laptop and install the new OS, assuming that the i386 dir is stored on the...
OMG. You're fvcking everywhere! I'd like to avoid your posts, but there's too damn many of them. You've posted in 24 different threads today, 4 of which you started yourself. You love being in the spotlight don't you? And you have the audacity to slander someone else for posting senseless crap...
Unfortunately, most of them smell. I know I'm generalizing, but in my case, it's true. I'm not trying to be prejudice either; I simply feel that americans should be the first to get jobs in america, not some foreigner who's just gonna leave the country when he decides he's made enough money. How...
Yes. No dog is mean by nature. It's abuse and neglect that make them bad tempered. Leaving them alone in an apartment all day would be a sure instance of neglect I'm afraid...

Hire americans. Deport the rest.
I work at a company where 80% of the employees are Indian or Chinese. It sucks. I hate walking down the halls and smelling the stink of curry all over the place, not to mention the fact that half of them don't speak english...
That's the stupidest things I've ever heard. It's the owners that treat the dogs like crap and therefore make the dogs bad tempered; it's not the dog's fault. Some people are so stupid. All the Rottweilers I've ever known have been really playful and good natured.
Fvck canada!
First off, don't get a dog if you can't give it exercise or pay attention to it.
Second, I love Rottweilers, they're my first pick too.
Third, don't get a dog if you can't give it exercise or pay attention to it.
Hypocrite much? All of your posts sound like the ranting of a 13 year old. See above. You're the last person that should be ragging on someone's posting style.
