6600gt slower than 9800xt?

thanks all =). I "upgraded" to the xfx 6600gt for the dual DVI feature to run my monitors and with them being 20" and 21", I'd like them to run 1600x1200 if possible so im looking at the 6800gt but it might not be worth it =(

Need good LCD monitor

I have a Dell 2001fp and a Samsung 213T and DVI does make a big difference in clarity. Even on the 1800fp I upgraded from, i could tell the VGA wasn't as sharp.

its actually world of warcraft, i just checked and my 3dmark isnt too bad, maybe its the high res that kills the card as Duster said

Hey all, I just went from a 9800xt to a 6600gt and noticed that the 6600gt is nowhere near the performance of the 9800xt. Whereas the 9800xt was able to run WoW at 1600x1200 perfectly, the 6600 has trouble with it. I just ran a 3DMark03 test at default settings and it came out with 7566. My...

it isnt so much a dead pixel policy, its their customer satisfaction policy, if you're not happy with it, you can return it for a new one.

Are Refurbished parts a bad deal?

refurbs come bare, especially from newegg as I found out, which means for motherboards, no backplate, which is very important IMHO.

i bought my 05 Altima 3.5se for only $1500 more than the Mazda 3 you quoted, you should look into it, real fast (~250hp) and the drive is great.

warm ATI AIW 9600XT @ Newegg $140 refurb

the 9600xt requires a breakout dongle to even use a monitor with it and if it doesnt come with the refurb, you got to get it from ATi for $25 plus shipping just for that one piece to make it functional.

I hate to say it, but I hope UT and OU win their respective bowls to make a Big 12 dominated bowl season (except for those OSU babies). BTW Hammer, I dont hate Texas, my sister goes there and I go to Tech (imagine her and me at the TTU vs. UT game) and I respect the school, just not the coach ;)

Very true, and OU shut out Texas, and Tech kept up with OU, comparisons can be made but football isnt a apples to apples game But with texas, tech wasn't playing like they played last night. Tech never lost when Cumbie threw 1 or less interceptions

It's not that Cal's bad, but the fact that when Tech fires on all cylinders, no team can beat them. 600+ offensive yards (520 passing) against a team that almost beat USC and only allows 200 something, its insane.
