Hey Kaido,
I have the following
Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L
Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200
Geoforce 7900 GS Dual DVI Card.
4GB Patriot Memory
500GB Maxtor Hard DRive
I clicked on the kit you have for ES2L and it took me to another site, where I registered, and sent you a e-mail. I think...
Thanks for the input, I put the DDR Voltage from 1.8 to 2.0 based on a post recommendation elsewhere, but now when I go back to 1.8v, it won't let me boot and makes beeping sounds.
Thus am leaving the settings I had in my original post.
Alright the only time I can have a stable 3.0ghz system with E2160 on my Abit IP35-E board is when I increase the voltage to 1.485. I get full load during prime small FF tested temperate of 66-67C using stock cooler. At Idle I'm seeing 33C for the CPU.
I think that will do - since i think...
I updated the Bios - the CPU-Z vcore still fluctuates.
Not sure which setting to use the low vcore or go higher back to 1.485
I guess my chip isnt that good compared to others.
In order to reset back to CMOS defaults, just go in the BIOS and set the settings back to default -- or just go in the BIOS and reset all defaults would be a better idea?
Thanks
Actually CPU-Z would show the voltage lower than what i had in in the BIOS plus it would fluctuate, which I guess is what you referring to dropping. When I set it 1.485, it would be at like 1.41 in CPU-Z.
I'll try updating the BIOS using the USB today.
Thanks
I didnt know there were users of this mobo -- im using it with a E2160 and have an old bios - am kind of hesitant to update the bios in fear of other issues being caused. i do need some help in overclocking.
These are the settings I have in the Motherboard Bios - need to get input if these...
When I have the voltage at 1.485, anything over 333 FSB causes reboot.
My limit is 3ghz at 9 X 333 with 1.485 vcore. The CPU idle temperature is 40C.
I placed it at 2.8ghz at 1.365 (i think that is the right number) and the CPU idle temperature is at 36C.
Yeah I think I have a bad...
Could you guys post your settings?
For 3ghz for some reason im needing 1.485 to be stable with the following settings:
External Clock : 333 Mhz
Multiplier: 9
I might try the 2.8ghz tomorrow back at stock voltage and them climb up.
What do you guys run to test the OC? Prime or...
The ram is 2X2GB.
I tried lower CPU Core Voltage but it won't stick with 9 X 333.
I guess I might just lower it to the 2.80ghz that I tried at the lower CPU Core Voltage.
Hi - I finally decided to OC my E2160 to 3ghz.
These are the settings I have in the Motherboard Bios - need to get input if these are safe.
External Clock : 333 Mhz
Multiplier: 9
DRAM Speed: 1:1.00
PCI Express: 100 Mhz
CPU Core Voltage...
I agree - I wasn't going to OC the E2160 if I install WHS.
I am basically trying to decide which to use as my main PC - where I do our main web/video/downloads/some gaming.
Thus if I was going to use the PC ONE as the WHS, then I would reset it back to factory defaults.
I was in a...
Thanks for the input.
I guess I can use the E2160 overclocked as my main PC. Even though the E5200 is the new processor and i dont feel like swapping the processors between the motherboard.
Between the 7900gs and the gigabyte video card - which would be a good performer? I'll just put the...
Hi - I have the following PC's setup right now.
PC ONE
E2160 Processor 1.8ghz*
Abit IP35-E Motherboard
4GB Ram (2 Slots)
500gb Hard Drive Seagate
Nvidia 7900GS Video Card
Antec Eathwatts 430 PS
Cooler Master ATX Case
Runs WinXP right now
* This PC is overclocked to 3.0ghz with...
I'm surprised to see people still post about the Abit IP35-E - I bought it when it was all the hype - never overclocked - still going strong.
I have one 500gb Hard drive and one 1.5TB one -- does anyone know how much the Abit IP35-E can handle - I was planning on adding two more 1.5TB
thanks
Ugh - I am tempted to jump in on the Abit IP35 Pro from Newegg for $100 AR - wondering if I can sell my Abit IP35-E for $70
IP35-E users please use the new thread which can be found below. Thank you.

Hey Guys - I have a question - I want to make my Abit IP35-E computer into sort of a HTPC - and connect it to my Panny Plasma 42PX75U. I have a DVI to HDMI cable I can connect for the video which I think should work.
But what about for the audio? What can I do for the audio. I have a...
I dont think its the hard drive - I just bought a 500gb Mybook with esata to try out from Circuitcity - same thing happens - my computer freezes - in fact it remained forzen even after I unplugged the power. With the Simpletech - if I would turn the power switch off - the computer would...
I checked Device Manager - I see under Raid Controllers the VIA Card/Chipset. I am not sure what else I should do - do I remove the card and then reinsert - or delete something from device manager to reinstall?
I have a Abit IP35-E with Win XP running - I installed a VIA Sata PCI Card , specifically this one.
Sata Card
Then I bought a Simpletech 1TB with a esata port - I bought a esata to esata cable from BestBuy to try it out - but my computer freezes when I plug it in - it freezes for like 20...
Alright - I got a new case - sold the Antec P182 - too big for me - its the Cooler Master Centurion 5 - I like it - got my replacement E2160 chip from newegg.
I didnt put the Arctic Silver - went with the default cooler and its heatsink - my idle temps in Windows OS is Core 0 - 25C and Core 1...
Is BIOS 15 the most stable? I am getting this problem where sometimes when I boot - the lights on the monitor go dim and the Windows XP logo goes dim - it freezes there - not sure what is causing the problme - i did a fresh install of XP -- it just happens sometimes
Thanks guys - I got frustrated and returned the chip to newegg - I even sold my Antec P182 - cuz it was too damn big.
I was using this build for myself or was going to give my current build to my mum - and keep this one.
Now - I think newegg will hit me with a 15% restocking plus I paid to...
Hi all - I am building a computer for my mum - need something small compact light - I bought a P182 - by just being stupid - just sold it off - its a monster - I saw a good price and bought it - but now am in need of something small - a lot of these HTPC cases are for microAtx - my Abit IP35-E...
I had done a Bios upgrade to get rid of double boot - but had to disconnect PS - now it double boots again - i think have Bios 12 -- is there a way to get rid of that double boot?
Or do I need to update to Bios 14?
also - is Bios 14 recommended one. thanks
I took everything out now - just to make sure - now mate I reapplied the thermal compound again - i tried my best to put a line in the middle - it barely looked like a line - its a dab high - I put all my force in the pins - made sure all of them came out back of the motherboard - nice and...

i had taken a look at the bottom the first time when i installed it - ive wiped a lot of the thermal compound off -- the cpu fan is also spinning.
I get 37 - 40C for both cores at idle via core temp.
In the BIOS - I was getting i think 50-51C - when not in the OS.
Cool - yeah I need some help as to what settings I need to change to OC it to 3ghz -- any help would e appreciated -- like what settings i need to change the BIOS
Yeah I def will use orthos - just need some help what settings i should change.
Yes that is idle temp with the stock cooler with arctic compound. The reason I bought the cpu was to OC it to 3ghz. Im not sure why the temp is that high.
yeah i think i have the pins rights - basically after the pins are installed - the pins show that if i turn the pins - i would be able to take them out.
I honestly dont think I can get better than this temp - right now in windows os when sitting idle - temp for both processors fluctuates between 37 C - 40 C.
This is using arctic paste with intel heatsink
Is there any guide to OC - or can someone tell me settings to use Abit IP35-E with...
