I got a new mobo,
plugged in power supply, cpu, ram and power switch
No video and no startup beep.
I look in the manual and see that I'm using DDR2-533 RAM when the mobo only "officially" supports DDR2-667 and DDR2-800.
Is using my old slower memory preventing the mobo from starting up...
Most computer cases will accept both the ATX standard and the micro-ATX standard. But like the previous user said, you won't know for sure until you take a look at the mounting points on the motherboard.

I need to return/replace my defective Abit IS7-E2 motherboard. However, I can't seem to get the intel heatsink off the defective board! I know that heatsinks are suppose to be on tight, but there must be someway to get it off! Any suggestions???

this deal has already been mentioned before. Newegg had that mobo for free after rebate starting from about 1 week ago. This isn't a "Labor Day Special" deal. It will probably still be there after labor day.

I would say get a brand name(intel) if you are willing to spend $178ish for a 2.8gh. If you have a tigher budget, which is understandable, get the AMD XP/64 3000+.
Just a reminder: current crop of totally passive cooling option isn't enough for ATI 9800Pro or higher. You will need a fan with the heatpipes/heatsinks.

You aren't making much sense. Why would a nvidia 6800 card work with a 300W psu???? If nvidia says it requires 450-480w power supply, it probably needs a power supply near that level. Sure, there will be a "fudge factor", but you aren't going to get away with a 300w quality supply

No there isn't a working ps2 emulator working for pc. However, there is a ps2 project that is work in progress. Goto http://www.ngemu.com for all the info. Just a guess, but it will be another 6-18month before they have a working ps2 emulator.
viewsonic g220 is a good monitor. Just be aware that it is a shadowmask while the NEC one is an aperature grill. With a shadowmask, it can sometimes be too dark when playing games.
try viewsonics p95 ($250 shipped) or nec/mitsu DP 930 ($300 shipped) Viewsonic is cheaper, but only has 0.25mm-0.27mm dot pitch(great for gaming/movies, not too great for wold processing). DP has 0.24mm which gives you clearer text.
you might want to consider integrated graphics if you don't plan to play any high end 3d games. Integrated graphics are more than sufficient for 2d games. You might want to consider antec's mid tower. I thatnk it's called Antec SQ2650. It's only $65ish + $15 shipping at newegg
Thanks for all your valuable advice. The OCWorkbench review is very helpful. From the comments so far, I believe ECS makes entry level/mid range boards. I think it will do just fine for a non-overclocker like me (who buys cheap ram, etc). :)
