worth upgrading routers?

Compusa has a deal on a a/b/g router with builtin printserver for $20AR. I'd get it myself if I didn't already have a g router and my laptop had the newer maxG card.

They already have another followup at the Inq: http://theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=32842 This looks like it could be a serious problem for Intel's Woodcrest processor. I just wish there were more details on what configurations were causing problems.

Wha happened to Turion X2?

I saw HP/Compaq offering it as an option shortly after it was announced and now it's gone. Also, Gateway hasn't put out any new AMD based laptops in months. Their retail notebooks are almost all Intel now. Is there some sort of major availability issue? Gateway marketing should be shot for...

New to the laptop game 800-1000 Budget?

It usually helps alot if you mention what you need your laptop/computer for before asking for recommendations. Do you need a fast gaming machine, something for business/presentations, etc.

Core Duo vs. Turion

I know I'm a bit late for this topic, but I just thought that it is worth mentioning that AMD laptops can be upgraded to VISTA or any 64Bit OS. Dual core is nice to have, but there is no OS upgrade potential. If not being able to upgrade your OS isn't a problem then the Core Duo's are definately...

Gateway MX 6121 Hinges

Get it repaired now. In order to get your laptop replaced using BestBuy's PSP you need to have it sent in 3x before they will replace (I'm guessing that unless the cost of repair is too high like replacing the LCD they will just ship it out for repair which has been averaging about 3.5 weeks...

Looking at 2 laptops

If I were choosing, I'd go for the 4402 andgame on my desktop. Personally I don't think dual core or even 64bit are as important as I thought they would be. Maybe in another 6 months 64bit might start to really show up (a couple of games that are patched or specialized applications don't count...

notebook battery

I still have my original battery for my laptop with an extended warranty. Battery life hasn't tanked, so I haven't bothered because it will probably take em 3 weeks to get the battery and install it (Bought from BestBuy) :P I got the warranty only to cover the LCD and any other problems that...

Go with the HP. If you need more USB/Firewire you can always get external hubs. IMO the extra memory is more important than being able to print a label directly onto a cd/dvd. I can't say anything about the express card slot, since I haven't seen any information pertaining to transfer speeds of...

I'd wait on more news about Core Duo reviews, it looks like THG may have turn up a bug that causes you to lose about 80 mins of battery life if you plug in a USB2 device.

Update: As of this morning something must have fixed itself after turning off the desktop. There is still no connection to the internet, but it can now ping the router and my other computer. :) Ipconfig still returns the IP, mask, and gateway that I set with no connection-specific DNS suffix.

Does a "simple" query like the one I mentioned run at all in the jsp page? I also asked if you can run the query using another tool that connects to the database? Something like Oracle's SQLPlus or MS's QueryAnalyzer. I used MySQL once awhile back, and I can't remember what built in tool it...

Does the query run outside of the jsp page? If so, did you check to make sure that the DB connection is working by using a simple statement like "select * from players;"? The only other thing that jumps out at me right now is you might need to add + ";" after the teamid.

You can play offline, but Steam must be running to launch the game(s). As long as you are not connected to the internet when you start Steam, Steam will ask you if you want to start in off-line mode. Just say yes, and have fun. If you are connected it will automatically start downloading Steam...

Any Laptop suggestions for playing WoW?

Ibuypower laptop is ok, but you can get the Gateway 7420GX from Best Buy for about $1250 when it is on sale and the specs are just as good except for the video card. It has the 64MB 9600, which according to most benchmarks is close to the 9700.

Does the Pentium M 2.13Ghz make sense for high end laptop gaming?

Misread you're post, but I believe Niggles is more concerned about "support." Anyone buying an Intel based laptop today is not going to be able to take advantage of any 64Bit support until they upgrade again (unless the current rumor that certain CPUs just need a bios update to enable 64Bit...

Where did this number come from? Driver support is almost ready now (at least for version 1.0) and there are already a few games that are supposed to take advantage of the 64Bit OS when it comes out. Those games might not take full advantage of it, but they do make some use of it's capabilities...

As long as you have steam activated on your computer you do not have to have access to the net to play HL2. Steam will ask you if you want to start in offline mode. Click on yes, then play HL2. It might be a little late to make this suggestion, but Steam does have an option to create backup...
