How much did you make straight out of college?

I work for a chemical company and know plenty of ChemE's. They start out in the $58-62K range fresh out of college. I am an IT guy, and we get paid less than the ChemEs because we are not the core business. It makes sense though. :-)

Power supply problem?

My friend is having a hardware problem with his machine, and I think that it is the power supply. He thought it was a hard drive problem and bought a new drive, but it did not fix the problem. Every so often his monitor will go blank like it is shutting down despite everything still working...

Video card issue.

I would try to send the card back, but I voided the warranty by installing a new heatsink and fan right? If not, I will definitely try to return it. The heatsink is flush with the core. I made sure of that when I mounted the fan. By cool to the touch, I meant that it was warm but not hot...
