Can't get my 5.1 to work

My soundcard is the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum. I just figured the software that came with it was about the same. Is there not somewhere in their software that has Speaker Settings? That's where my Calibrate button is. Maybe your's is in the menu instead? I would think that there has to be a way to...

Did you go through the process to calibrate them? My Logitech Z-5300e speakers did the same as your's, until I clicked on the "Calibrate" button, in the "Speaker Settings" part of the software, and went through that process. Only takes a couple of minutes, and they worked correctly afterward...

how to get bird-poo stain off car paint

Try a squirt of WD40. It's an outstanding cleaner. Better for greasy hands, than that stuff mechanics use. It's the best thing for removing bumper stickers. Great for all kinds of things.

Need to replace a very old system for the wife.

I agree with the guys saying build your own. The name brands can sell you a package fairly cheap, but the "names" are too proprietary. A friend has a three month old HP, with a dvd-rw drive. The discs he burns won't play in his dvd player. I explained that booktyping +R discs will probably let...

Printer ink...

Printers are setup to let you know ahead of time, before you actually run out, so you can order, or go buy more. You don't want to suddenly run out of ink, in the middle of a print job, with no warning. My Epson software has a button to click on that says "Remind Me Later", and still prints for...

5.1 Sound Issue

When I first got my system, it was the same. In the speaker setup part of the software, there should be a button that's labelled "Calibrate". Click on that, and go through the process. Only takes a minute or two. Also, if "Digital Output" is checked, uncheck it and see if it makes a difference...

URGENT!!! need help finding a topic to do a huge paper on by tomorrow!

There's Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby True HD audio formats, as well as DTS-HD. (Maybe for your next paper) You can't get much more "cutting edge" than these....... :)

DVD Burner Failure

It sounds like your burner is in PIO mode, and it needs to be in DMA mode. Even if it doesn't fix this particular problem, DMA needs to be ON. To ensure your drives are operating in DMA mode: (1) Control Panel, (2) System, (3) Goto the Hardware Tab, (4) Device Manager, (5) IDE ATA/ATAPI...

What home theatre setup will sound better? Best Bang for the buck

Computer speakers are built to be pretty close to you, while in front of your monitor. While the 5500's are very good computer speakers, I doubt seriously they can handle a real Home Theater receiver's power output, and/or sound good and clear, at the distance you sit for movies. That's not...

Just watched mission to mars...

My wife and I enjoyed the movie very much. We thought it was very refreshing for it to be different from the typical sci-fi movie. :)

dvd copying question

It actually depends on the software used to burn the first copy. DVD X-Copy will not copy a copy that was done with X-Copy. If you use DVD Shrink, in conjunction with Nero, you can copy a copy, all you want. Shrink will copy a copy made with X-Copy too.

How Can I Access the Recycle Bin of Win2000 Pro in Dos

Maybe you can copy and paste? Copy while in windows, and paste it after you go into dos? You may have to go back and forth a few times, till you get all the parts you need...........:) Just an idea.........have never worked with dos, and am new to windows.
