Getting a sonata - now i need cooling for GPU/CPU

i have a prescott, i know mine generates more heat than yours ;). i replaced the cpu heatsink with a zalman 7000cu and replaced the 2 120mm fans with slower spinning yate loons. here's a pic.

i wouldnt worry about heat issue. i have a sonata myself, and it's a very cool efficient case.

what graphics card do you have anyway? unless you have a 6800 ultra for example, you do not need a pci cooler. for the cpu, just buy either a thermalright 120 or a zalman 7700 heatsink.

logitech mx900 battery life :(

unless you really need bluetooth, return it and get the mx100 instead. the price difference is only a couple of dollars.

Antec case w/PSU

it would increase the PSU temperature, causing the fans to spin faster if you have them connected to the 'fan only' molex connector.

for the people who use the same company for cable tv and internet, how does the line get split? for example, cable comes in the house and is split 2 way, one for tv and the other for internet.

Temperature *worse* with intake fan??!

possibly too much possitve pressure. meaning, warm air is building up inside your case, and the exhaust fan isn't spinning fast enough to release the air. you can try increasing the exhaust fan speed and decreasing the intake fan speed.

Antec case w/PSU

there is a reason for the "antec" punched holes, to cool the power supply. since very little airflow come from the intake, the power supply has to depend on the side vents for cooling. with the new sonata II, there is a redesign of the intake, thus there is no need for the side vents.

I :heart: my Sonata the stock PSU fan is however, crapping out on me. the clicking noise on the fan is starting to become more noticable, so i replaced it with a 80mm panaflo :) along with 2 120mm yateloons aka nexus. here's a pic of my sonata.

How to remove the face plate from an HP Pavilion case

if thisis how the case looks like, just pop open the cd storage cover. towards the front, there should be a little hole under the cover. take a pen and stab the hole which should release the front fascia. edit: i have a very similar hp case and if you need help taking the front fascia out, i...

What brands besides creative sound blaster?

your cpu uses way more power than your audigy 2. and your onboard audio uses more cpu cycles than audigy 2. you can try to reinstall the drivers, because any sound card is better than realtek's.:confused:

delta 120mm 3700 RPM 53dB 151.85 CFM i'd put a metal grill on that to prevent fingers being severly cut.

ways to quiet down a dvd/cd burner?

i have a 3500 and it's quite loud when it's reading at max speeds. it is because i flashed to a new firmware with riplock disabled. meaning, it can rip cds at maximum speeds.
