rgr -- very accurate post - I would only add that the problem with Punkbuster is related to most NForce 3 chipsets - not just Chaintech's boards.
Doing my research now and finding out about the temp problem with the VNF ... hadn't heard that one - thanks for the post!

I'm running a wide array of fans in my case - couple exhaust - couple intake..side intake...
I've upgraded my CPU heatsink/fan to a TT Silent Boost and used an application of Arctic Silver Premium to help with heat control...
But still, my CPU temp holds steady at 71C...the only time it's ever...
yeah - I think I'm going to upgrade this power supply - the case is a cadillac...it's sweet!
I REALLY think it's a problem with the ps...if I turn my settings lower in BFV, it seems that I don't have this hang problem...I've had the same thing happen when I've pulled the case side panel off and...
Interesting regarding PB and the NForce...any idea on whether there's a fix out there or on the way?
It freezes for a short amount of time - like 2 seconds - then it let's loose and I'm rolling again ingame...picture just freezes like a screenshot...no reboot necessary - but I'm often dead...
according to MBM I'm rating
+12.00
Current: 11.13
Low: 10.94
High 11.25
I'm seeing some momentary locks or freezes in Battlefield Vietnam with my new computer and I'm wondering if this raidmax 420W ps that came with my case (See my sig) is causing the problem by being insuffiecient. I know...
Please school me -
How will a power issue show up in MBM's rail stats? What should you look for to see such a problem in the numbers?
thanks -

didn't mean to hijack...think this is pertinent to original thread
I've decided to upgrade my CPU cooling system. The CPU heat shield has residue on it from the thermal pad that comes on the bottom of the stock heatsink rig.
I want to clean that and apply a batch of arctic silver premium.
Anyone have any suggestion on how to best go about removing the mess...
Anyone know of any good How-To and information articles on o/c'ing AMD64 processors? I'm looking to o/c mine in the next couple days but I want to school myself some more on the process.
Thanks -

I want to lay down a ghosting of my new game box to make for easier rebuilds. Anybody know of good ghosting software that's cheap or trial/shareware?
thanks in advance!

EDIT: sorry - wasn't thinking and posted this in wrong forum and don't see a delete post option.

Deal on newegg for silent boost for AMD 64 - but it's refurbished. Of course, refurbished from Newegg could mean that someone returned it and let out some documentation in the box...or it could mean that it's...
damn! where'd you dig this dinosaur up at? I remember this chair getting the worst reviews from PC Gaming possible...
love the ratings on the testers computer (celeron 333a O/C'd to 416 !!! hold on to your butts!!)
I'd agree with alot of the other posters -- just go buy places like Office...
Dunno if this is your cup of tea - but here's what I did once -
One year while I was working at a medical center in Houston, we were given dozens of out-dated computers (386's & 486's with an occasional odd pentium 100/133 thrown in the mix) and told to discard them. So we took them out to...
on my raidmax case I have 8 fans
- two in back
- two in front
- one up top
- one on the side panel away from mobo
- one on interior side of power supply
- one on exterior side of power supply
What would you guys recommend the optimal configuration to be for maximizing air flow?
back fans...
the book lays out the story along a much more extended timeline...the movie, like most novel-to-movies do, compresses the story...which makes it seem like the african guy is always there right at the right time...but that's not the way the book reads...
I love the movie...you have to like...
See - that's what I was wondering also -- what do they go for normally -- sorry being lazy on my shopping research...but seriously - I was wondering if I can go to Fry's or Best Buy and get this speaker set without having to pay $n amount of dollars to have them dropped at my front door....BUT -...
I need to buy some new speakers...currently only using onboard sound but will be upgrading to audigy2 soon. I'm not a sound-afficionado, as in - if it's loud and fairly clear, I'm happy.
Does this deal on newegg look like a good one...
For the amount of effort / man-hours you're going to put into getting the paint job done properly, you could spend that same time pan-handling out at an intersection and make enough money to buy yourself a nice CRT that's got a black facotry paint job...
maybe make your sign for the street...
