RadioShack has a special deal on $15 iTunes gift cards, buy 3 get 1 free. So pay $45, get $60 worth of credit. First time I've ever seen a discount for the iTunes music store. Hot deal, if you buy music from iTunes. (And if you don't, well, ignore this.)
The offer is in their most recent...
Got an absolutely loaded XPS Gen 3 machine from the Outlet for $1600 shipped two weeks ago, which ended up being a smoking price.
P4 3.6 GHz, 2 gigs ram (2 x 1 gig sticks @ 533MHz), Radeon X800 XT (pci express -- a $600 card), Audigy 2 ZS, 2 250-gig Western Digital SATA drives, 16x DVD-ROM...
Meanwhile, my biggest gripe with Dell is their cases. Unless you get an XPS (which is by an large overpriced compared with identical configurations from ABS), you're not going to get a great case. The 8400 case has 4 internal bays -- 2 5.25", and 2 3.5". You'll likely have cd/dvd drives...
I'm saying that the assumption is that, for instance, an AMD 64 3500+ is comparable to or faster than a P4 3.4 GHz, so that you could buy a (cheaper) AMD chip and have a system that is essentially the same.
I have yet to see a benchmark test supporting that assumption.
(I used the #'s I...
Apples and Oranges. That's like saying you can build a cheaper system if you use cheaper components. Of course you can, but it won't be the same system.
Not a bad deal at all. Keep in mind this also includes a 3-year warranty.
And there's nothing wrong with getting a Dell. Dell has made huge progress in using quality components, and some of their prices during this holiday season have been unbeatable.
Apple is sending otu $30 off $300 codes for its Apple store to customers who have purchased music from iTunes. I received it, as did my friend who has only downloaded two songs. Could be worth a visit to the iTunes store if you're looking to buy anything at the Apple store.
Blind allegiance to a brand name is sure to screw you sooner or later. The Plextor fans learned that lesson the hard way, and now the Klipsch fan club is having the same reality check.
There's no question that for a long time, Klipsch was the leading innovator in computer speakers. But the...
Again, the issue isn't how great Ofoto is or isn't, it's Ofoto vs. Imagestation.
What kind of paper did your imagestation prints come back on?
And when did you place your Imagestation order?
dr150: Can you describe for us the quality of the prints you received from Sony's Imagestation service? Also, when did you place your order?
At least, I assume you used the service, since you're saying that Ofoto delivers better pics and is worth 10 cents a print more.
The speed of the card, not the manufacturer, determines how slow or fast it is. Both sandisk and viking make slower and faster cards. You need to look at the specs for the transfer rate.
Just a quick blurb on the Viking 1 gig: You can read my full review in a similar thread on this card. I returned it after only a few days. Started giving me weird errors, and was extremely slow in writes. I ended up getting the 45x Transcend 1 gig from Newegg for about $60 more (and no rebate)...
Newegg, like every other online retailer, has always charged for shipping. The only issue is whether or not they tell you what they're charging, or just roll it into the price.
The muvo hack is certainly not for everyone. Lots of people aren't going to want to try it, and, as you no doubt know from reading other boards, people are finding units where the microdrive can't be removed.
As for "no compact flash can compete," I assume you're talking about price? Because...
Amazon.com had a slightly better price on this until recently, but now they've raised it.
I bought the card, and used it for about a week in my Canon Digital Rebel. After a couple days of use, I started noticing strangeness -- some images I knew I shot didn't get saved on the card, and others...
For anyone thinking about getting this: Be careful.
For one thing, Amazon has raised the price. But regardless: I had it for three days, and all of a sudden I started getting random writing errors. I then noticed that some pictures I took weren't making it onto the card at all (others made it...
This is a great camera to get for parents or a young person just starting to figure this stuff out. Before people start whining about Kodak: I owned one of these, and gave one as a gift, and they turn out fantastic pictures. No, it's not as small as a Canon, but you won't find an easier to use...
For those wondering: This is not a cyberrebate-type arrangement. The site is just a list of links to free-after-rebate items at online retailers (along with their own affiliate referral codes, no doubt.)
The Newegg price of $935 shipped is pretty tough to beat right now. Buy.com has it for $915 + about $9 shipping, but they have been out of stock for a couple weeks.
Also available from Goodguys.com for $949 shipped.
The last thing you want to do with camera equipment is buy from a shady no-name place (and a significant portion of them are in NY/Brooklyn). They will "sell" it to ytou for cheap, then charge you exorbitant shipping rates and harass you into buying expensive addons like lenses and camera bags...
I've been using hte Amazon.com visa as my main credit card for years. It's through a reputable bank, and (at least with my spending habits) I pretty much get a constant stream of $25 Amazon gift certificates in the mail. They're stackable.
You get 1 point for each dollar spent, and 3 points for...
Costco adds tax, which adds about $80 in NY. Not worth it for an extra battery.
As for OneCall: I don't think they've had the kit for $899 very often. They just got the camera in stock recently, and the sale last Friday didn't seem to last very long. How many times have they had it for $899?
