    They increased transistors by 60% and netted a 30-45% performance improvement over 6970.. which isn't bad overall.. I might just a little disappointed with the increased transistor density it isn't as great of a leap as a I expected, but overall it's ok.

    To me additional factors are important, I want a product that is compatible with my current games without issues (good drivers), I want a good price/performance, power efficient card, as well as low idle values. Until GTX 480 arrives, I won't know that yet.

    It's actually very interesting, I did a very similar upgrade recently but on the Intel side rather then AMD. I went from a E4300 @ 2.4GHZ/1.06 to a E8400 @ Stock. Quite a nice boost. The extra cache does help.
