FW off on nforce2 boards helps.. for like 5%
im on a nforce2 board myself and fw didnt help neither did 2d/3d clocks at the same
however have found that with the newer bios FW on works just fine..
and i actually get a few more fps...

I (and a bunch of other people on various forums) found out that the problem is the cards bios's!!
the problem bios for 6800GT/6800U (well UEE too but they not official as such yet) is 05.40.02.10.14

i have a PNY 6800 Ultra clocked @ 440 / 1200 whitout any problem.
Now if i clock the card at standard core e memory speed (400 - 1100) it just look up / freeze
I have contacted PNY and this is the answer :

i had plugged dvi dongle and crt into DVI port nr2
but that wasnt it as i just had a freeze up
fast write suggestion seems valid...

and i got it yesterday
started out with newest forceware
then backed down to the ones that came with the card... then the 3dmark approved ones
i see upto 73c idle temps :(:disgust: and with CB2.0 / rivatuner installed i also checked the "fan always on" since i found...
got 2 results for ya :cool:
