I agree with Olds. Littering pisses me off to no end. Here is my quick story.
My son is a Cub Scout. One of his electives was to clean up our road. So we set off with a couple of those grabby trash picker things. We ended up filling 12 bags up in a few hours which we picked up when we were...
I see the simple alarm clock type atomic clocks (Emerson Research I think) in Goodwill ALL THE TIME. They go for $3-$4 used. I have four in the house I've gotten from Goodwill.
You can encrypt your SD card if you want. The encryption process is customizable.
Your phone grants you normal access to all files upon boot up after you enter the pin you specified when setting up encryption.
To the user, everything is exactly the same once encryption is set up - except...
What you need is a non-electric water softener. There is a ~$700 price premium over conventional salt-using softeners. The non-electric version works just as well but uses far, far less salt. As far as I know the "softeners" which use zero salt are snake oil.
Non-electric softeners are the...
I don't think it makes any difference at all.
On my old 3.4GHz OC'd Q6600 CPU @1.33v, my idle temps were in the upper 50's using the stock cooler.
Idle temps dropped to 28c after cleaning and reapplying AC5 in a circular pattern using a regular lunch baggie over my finger.
I have used this...
Thanks for the update. This has been extremely interesting to follow for awhile now.
The comments at the bottom of your link offer some high-IQ insight.
Yeah Kimbo is definitely a tough SOB, but man, that take down defense is just so bad! Ken completely gassed himself on that RNC.
I hope they shake hands now that this is finally over.
I gotta tell you, years ago when the forums originally split into all the sub-forums, I was ALL for it. I thought it would be a great idea but in practice I've found it's really not.
I'll explain (what has already been explained ad nauseam, but w/e, it's a +1 I guess)
1) Traffic. This site...
THIS. So much this. I'm an Android guy and it incredibly frustrating taking pictures with any kind of movement. My old iPhone 5 was took better shots of moving targets than my Note 4. Very disappointed in my Note 4. Sports Mode does indeed help somewhat, but it's still not great.
Nice KO by Hendo, probably the only way he could win at this point in his career due to his vastly diminished gas tank.
Regardless, awesome to see a 44 year old perform like that.
Great rule change. The extra point was pretty dumb anyway. Last year 99.6% of extra points were successful. It'll still be north of 90%, but I bet there will be a few games decided by missed extra points this year.
Long story short, my computer was vandalized.
The cords were cut on my:
SteelSeries WoW 14-button mouse
My Logitech G15 keyboard
My power supply.
Who knows what else is damaged, but this is what I have to deal with to start. If at all possible I would like to repair these items, as...
I feel your pain bshole. I'm still in shock even after two days.
I'm a big Pats fan, but have always liked the Packers. Rodgers is just completely amazing. What he did to the Pats in November was maddening. It was like watching a normal Pats game, but in reverse.
I've had two motherboards go bad on me. Both failures occurred over 10 years ago.
First was an old 420ZX board, (486 era) IIRC black scorch marks along with a horrible smell did this one in.
The second was an Abit 440BX board with terrible, terrible caps. A few of them bulged and leaked and...
Oh well, it looks like it's official. No NVMe support for the SM951.

I'm really looking forward to Skylake. It appears that is the platform where we will finally see NVMe blossom.
Anyone care to...
Nice catch! Really hoping this is just a marketing mix up. I'm afraid this drive without NVMe would eat up noticeable CPU cycles during large reads/writes.
From the first link:
"...a tiny svelte form-factor isnt the only surprise either, the SM951 has a few more. The biggest is the inclusion of NVMe support, a protocol specifically designed for SSDs that replaces the de facto AHCI used today. Amongst other things, it promises to lower both...

PCIe 3.0 x4
NVMe support
2,150MBs/1,550MBs
This excites me.
There were articles about this drive as early as last July. It...
You don't know me from a hole in the wall as I sort of lurk here but I TOTALLY get your humor and have enjoyed your honesty and trolling for many years. You're not afraid to say things as they are and you don't care what people think of you... kind of like me I guess.
I would most definitely...
Okay final update just for some closure.
I tried the GT730 card and it ended up as a pretty good upgrade, but not quite good enough. I think the CPU may have been holding me back here.
I ended up donating the PC to a 74 year old woman who had been using a positively ancient P3.
So to close...
Hah, well the systems arrived today and guess what? BOTH systems had Win7 installed! Lucky me I guess. I was all prepped to swap hard drives.
Thanks for all the responses.
