Q6600 or E6700 for Photoshop PC

Does anyone know if the Quad chip is actually faster than the dual processor in actual applications? (E6600 vs Q6600). If it is is it only faster in applications designed for Quad Chips. Also have the OCing problems with the Quad chips in the SLI 680i boards been resolved?

From personal experience Newegg will back out your RMA and recharge your card for the returned product.
