Dual Monitors for gaming

If you're using an nvidia card, you can just go into the control panel and change the nView display mode to dualview i think. It's one of those in the list.

How is AMD 4x4 gonna help gamers??

Doesn't oblivion use all cores? I know it does on the xbox and I heard it uses both cores on pc's with dual cores.

Yeah, and what resolution do you think that 4:3 version was taken at? That example doesn't apply to comparing 20" LCDs. The 20" WS LCD monitor's width is only 80 pixels more than the 4:3 version. That's only 5% more (2.5% on each side), but 12.5% less than the 4:3 version. Here's 80...

19" for widescreen 20" for 4:3 the reasoning for this is that with the 19" you have more pixels if you go widescreen. the 20" lcds have 1600x1200, while the widescreen only has 1680x1050. The 4:3 20" is basically the same as the widescreen, but you have more height.

20" Widescreen LCDs-am I the only one who doesn't understand the point of them?

I can't wait till someone develops a holographic display that can use any aspect ration. I hate being locked into a certain ratio!

2007WFP gradient banding

I found it to be annoying when playing Plasma Pong. VGA mode was MUCH better. Anyhow Dell is sending me another 2007WFP. I have a feeling this one will have the defect, but at least hopefully it won't have any dead pixels. My current 2007WFP only has 1, not that that bothers me, but still.

2007WFP gradient banding

Well 16bit mode is always going to show banding on any display, my 2007wfp looks like yours in the 32bit mode. Does anyone know if it's possible to update the firmware on these displays? Not sure if that would fix the problem, but it's a possibility.

Can I pump 480p or 720p over S-Video to Dell 2007WFP?

can't you just get a hdmi to dvi cable? the 2007wfp is supposed to support hdcp.

Well it does affect some games. Plasma Pong, a game that relies heavily on gradients, looks like it's running in 16bit mode.

Computer won't post

When my power supply was dieing it did the same thing. I would switch it off and it made a weird faint fizzle sound. It also fried my dvd-rom drive, so if I were you I would take that power supply out and get a new one. You could open the psu up and check to see if any of the caps are swollen...

DVD-Rom drive broken

well i bought a nec 3520a black burner a few months ago for a different computer and the only thing I don't like about it is how loud it is when it's playing anything other than a dvd. It was cheap though. I think I'll get the newer version that's out, the 3550a.

Maximum simultaneous keypresses on a keyboard?

apparently a keyboard with "n key rollover" doesn't have this problem. I have yet to find a keyboard that has this ability.

Hmmm...system won't boot, stops at "mup.sys" in safemode boot

I think I had this problem before and the problem was that it was a bad harddrive.

Can somebody verify solution to memory problem/error message....

Do you only get memory errors using ie? If so I doubt it's a ram issue. Most likely there is a plugin loaded in ie, like spyware, that is causing IE to crash.

I have reseated all of the above. I have not had any beeps at all.. :/ Is it possible that just the processor is bad, or would the motherboard beep if the processor is bad? I know for sure I installed the processor correct, applied thermal compound and everything. sucks

I didn't try resetting the cmos, but I think I removed the ram and it did the same thing. I can't remember if I did that or not.
