Might I suggest www.kaspersky.com and reading the product descriptions. You don't need workstation anyway, iunless you're going to install it in an administered environment FYI Personal Pro and Workstation will not give you any kind of a huge lift over Personal in terms of detection ability.

Good deal. Thanks for the scoopage. *Edit, took a look and I don't think it's going to happen. Connector goes straight into a board. Laptop is two and a half years old, so I think manuf were still pushing for non-standard interfaces.

NM found one @ Newegg. NEC ND5500A, 4X DVD+R/-R, +RW/-RW, 24X16X24 $148. Not a bad deal, Dell's is $229 and doesn't support -R/RW writing. If I don't post back, soon, everything is working like a champ.

Anyone know of an online shop that carries internal slimline optical drives? My CDRW is crapping out, figured I'd get a 4X DVD+RW drive if possible. Also, can you plop in any internal drive or do OEMs have proprietary connectors? Laptop is a Presario 2810T. Thanks.

Looking for an nv6800 / x800 comparison

Given the fact that the X800 hasn't been launched yet, no one knows much of anything about the GPU except that it will be faster than the R360. Neither the 6800/U and X800 haven't been released in retail... so no one knows if there are any differences between the preview cards and retail cards...

ATI's Radeon 9800XT + Half Life 2 = Sept 30 launch on Alcatraz.

Neither, Ritek 4X is the best on the market at the moment. Relatively cheap if you buy the logo version. AllMediaOutlet, no tax and free shipping, plus they are pretty cheap.

Is it possible to install a NEC 1300 DVD burner into an external Firewire enclosure?

FYI CPU utilization is much lower with firewire. Newegg has a enclosure that supports firewire and USB 2.0. Coolmax 510 for about $75. Nice thing is that you can mount both 5.25" and 3.5" devices in it. Or you can just buy an external drive if you don't have one already. Price difference...
