Issue with new video card

I bought a 4550 from best buy which is a PCI-e 2.0 card and everything seems to be working fine. Wish I new that before I ordered the other one.

Better off getting PCI-Express if you want a card that will last

I love how whenever anyone talks about PCI-E there is always a bunch of people that assume that their current system is fine and tell them not to just upgrade the mobo/vid card. Personally, I have a 1ghz P3, Intel mobo, 512mb ram, and a GF4 4600 Ti. I can't upgrade anything or even overclock...

Anandtech 90nm vs 130nm A64 review

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Why up the voltage on the 3000 and not the 3500? I haven't done much overclocking, but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to hit higher speeds with one that started higher.

You can't use a 6600 and a 6800. has to be 2 of the same card. And both will be running at 8x speed.

I don't think it is going to have SATA 2. I know I read something about when that would be out and can't remember what it said. I know that Nforce4 adds a couple more USB and SATA ports over what NF3 has. I think it has 10 USB and 8 SATA.

When is Shuttle going to release something using nForce4?

Soundstorm was a rumor, it won't be on Nforce4. That doesn't mean the sound will be bad though. Lots of mobos have good onboard sound.

When is Shuttle going to release something using nForce4?

There is only 20 channels for PCI-E. For SLI, there is 2 16x connectors and it will run at 16x with one card. If you put 2 cards in, they each run in 8x. Don't wory, that is more than enough bandwidth for years to come.

Which A64 3500+ to get, 90nm or 130nm?

I've seen the same list of 4 versions without the plain one having AGP, so who knows. Nvidia hasn't had any official announcements, so it is all just rumors anyway. But, without PCI-E I don't see how that Nforce4 board will be any different than a Nforce3 board.

Which A64 3500+ to get, 90nm or 130nm?

There won't be any Nforce4 boards with AGP. Other than PCI-E it will basically be the same chipset as the Nforce3.

90nm AMD Socket 939 Athlon 64 3000+ & 3200+ Winchesters are shipping in the morning

The FSB is intergrated into all the chips. I'm pretty sure that both the 90nm and the 130nm both run at the same FSB.

Which 6800 ultra is the best?

BFG is overclocked to start and reviews I've seen show it overclocking higher than others. It also has a lifetime warranty, which is nice.

Socket 754 or wait for nForce4 939?

Hopefully Nforce4 will be out in October or November. Because I'm waiting for it to come out before I upgrade for HL2. The major advantage of Nforce4 939 is being able to upgrade part of your system in 2-4 years. Socket 754 has reached its peak for CPUs and AGP cards aren't going to last too...

Soundstorm 2 was a rumor at the inquirer. Everything since then (that didn't quote the inquirer) has said that Nvidia won't make soundstorm 2 until the mobo manufactures are convinced that it adds enough valve to their products to justify the increase in price.
