Wireless card dropping internet connection

try using the software that came with the wifi card. Windows's XP has built in wifi software (zero config i think it is called). Well zero-config sucks. Drops connections all the time. Also change the channel that the router is werking on. There maybe other radio Frequencies in the area that...

my opionion is that it is the norm. PocketPC's dont function as fast as regualr computers cause they have a slower CPU. So they also function slower to save battery life. my opinion is all. /CLONE

DVD playback a little choppy in action scenes.

Place the DVDROM on its very own IDE cable. bandwidth seems to be the issue and compitition for bandwidth on the same chain as well. try that. i hope that helps. /CLONE

Try this: Place the cdrom on one IDE cable and the WD HDD on another IDE cable. set the jumpers correctly. Put the HDD on IDE socket zero. put the cdrom on IDE socket one. i hope this helps. /CLONE

I just put together my first computer

if your problem is your optical drives not being able to read or install windows from the CD. Then either check the jumpers or install from a regualr CDROM.. not a cd wrighter or a DVD rom. A standard cd rom werks best. i hope this helps. /CLONE

western digital hdd grinding/clicking

that noise means the heads in the drive are touching the platter. and it means that your data is being scratched. Please run the Western Digital Diagnostic free tool and scan the HDD. The program will scan your hdd and tell you the reason it is making those noises. It will either PASS or FAIL...

sounds like the gears are striped inside the optical drive's case. or , the mechanism that raises the cd up into the air off the tray is not raising the cd high enough and the cd is on an angle and rubbing inside the drive...or the cd is being raised TOO high and is doing the same thing. YOur...

sounds like you are over heating your cpu to me. try using artic silver cpu greese. should lower your cpu temp by 10 degrees. also put a larger actuve heatsink on the cpu. i hope this helps. /CLONE
