Hi, I would like to put more memory into my IBM NetVista A20 (model 6269-BBG), which is P3 667, but has only 64MB memory.
I checked on the IBM website, also on some big memory manufacturers sites and they all suggest I need quite expensive memory modules.

I got some delays opening doors and stuff, only sometimes, when I had 512 RAM, upgraded to 1GB and it runs silk smooth.
Maybe something was wrong with my WinXP settings, not sure, but now it runs very well, no problem, and, as you said, RAM costs not so much nowadays anyway.
Well, it probably does not make sense, since you all guys have relly powerfull PSUs, but I had a very similar problem, when the card did not get enough power. Then the same thing happened. Can the PSU be faulty or something???

At the moment I can connect my music synthesizer to my sound card via the gameport-MIDI extension.

I have seen somthing like that on mine too, but only when sun shines from behind onto it. I think it just overheats and gets crazy. Maybe your monitor just gets too hot at some point too???

Amazing - still not a single answer about WHY the D3 engine is considered to be so great. It seems people just blow it up in their own heads and start to believe how great the engine is.

I have difficulties seing how is D3 superior in this sense??? Arent you also going around and shooting exactly the same monsters over and over again??? How many different monsters are there in D3??? Not too many, right?
And in Painkiller, at least, the big bastards were designed just excellent...
I simply do not understand why all the headlines are full with that DOOM3 crap, even computer buyer guides etc., you know...
Why the engine sux? Because I do see the awesome bad performance, but do not see any visual advantages, besides everything being shiny :)

No at all, I just wanted to say what i think about this game, and it is my true opinion. It just seems that most people like it because you HAVE TO LIKE IT, IT IS DOOM3
OK, I do not see really anything particular in this engine. To me both the indoor and outdoor scenes in FarCry
look by far much better. And the game need such dramatic system specs that it is just a joke for most users.
The same FarCry, for example, is a demanding game, but the Doom3 stutters...
