17" TFT with DVI

Like the subject says, I need a 17" TFT with digital inputs, well three of them actually. They are for office use so the response time doesn't much matter. I'm more concerned about ensuring they are pixel perfect, I don't want to get stuck with any with duff pixels that the customer won't...

Is AData or TwinMos better memory

Right Twinmos it is then but CL2.0 or CL2.5 Twinmos M-Tec, TwinMos Twister or just plain Twinmos? That is for the non ECC, doesn't look like Twinmos do ECC so that might have to be AData.

Yea I guess youre' right Ken could fit casters myself. So the Server is going to be either a Wave Master or a Codegen 9011. Problem is I still need something for the network workstations. Wave Master is double the price I have to spend on these, need something smallish without too many drive...

Antex SOHO 1080 way too big. These are network workstations that have a floppy drive any absolutely nothing else.

Twin Athlons or bottom end Opteron for server?

I have been looking at the specs for that Tyan board you suggested, thing is I can't see much difference between that and the desktop boards. Now if there was a proper server board that had 64bit PCI and the such, that would be worth the extra.

Is original AMD fan really needed?

I have read somewhere recently that I need to stick to using an original AMD retail fan if I want the cpu fan to use the temp sensing variable speed ability of the Asus mobo. Is that true or will any fan with a 3pin power connector do the job? I am sure I have used various fan/heatsink...

Thanks for the ideas. In the end I have decided to go with a single Opteron 140 or maybe a 240 depanding on what I can get my hands on first, Opterons are in short supply over here in the UK at the moment. That is going to live on a single Opteron board like the Asus SK8N or SK8V not decided...

I'm just getting a bit worried that supply of these dual mobos will dry-up within the next year or two, which would cause a bit of a problem if it failed and we needed to get a replacement. The server will have a planned life of about four years. Cheers,

How does Opteron 140 compare to dual Athlon MPs?

Anyone able to tell me how an Opteron 140 (1-way, 1400mhz) compares to a dual Athlon MP2800+ (or 2600 mobiles if that is better). Both setups look to be about the same cost at the moment. I can't seem to find any simple MIPS or similar benchmarks to enable a comparission between these two...

Need to build a Server, but don't know whether to use one of the old twin Athlon boards with a pair of XP-Mobiles in it or a bottom end Opteron (140 1-way 1400mhz) what do you all think? As it is a server it should have ECC DIMMS so, unfortunately, that rules out all the normal single Athlon...
