Thanks corkyg, I got it.
But is it not better just to clone the internal laptop HD1 to an external HD2, 2.5" drive and then just switch the drives?
Jut pondering!!!
:)
corkyg,
When you clone original HD1 to the external HD2 via esata, you have an exact copy of the the HD1 (original drive).
When you switched the HD1 and HD2 in the laptop you have then the exact copy of the HD1 (original) in the laptop.
Why do you need to clone HD2 to the external HD1...
Thanks for the link. Very interesting. Have no need for any HD right now. My Gateway laptop P-7805U FX already has 2 HDs 320GB each in it.
But the Seagate 7200 performance was a real surprise.
First off, I really appreciate the info from this thread. I am a complete noob when it comes to cell phone and pay as you go plans.
So if I understand correctly, if I already have an unlocked GSM phone I can buy a Tmobile Pay as you Go SIM card on Ebay, plug the SIM card in my unlocked phone...
Just a little update. I finally contacted Asus and the lady I spoke to said that they indeed had my submission and she will cut a $20 check for me for the router 520U. The other rebate was for a DVD-RW and they have no record of it and neither do I, since I did not do LESSON #1.
I hate...
I am fairly cetain that I received an email confirming the receipt of the rebate and then nothing. Frankly I plan to give up on this. Since it happened twice to me, I just want to warn others to be careful.
I do think Asus make excellent products and it reallly pains me to report a negative...
This is FYI only. Asus did not send out my rebates (2) although it's been more than 3 months.
Small amounts, about $10 and $20 for the router and a DVD R/W. But I will not do rebate with Asus again, although I have bought plenty of MBs and stuffs from them.
I hope my experience was limited...
I put it in my cart and the price comes up $74.99 but there is and INSTANT REBATE above the price and a price of $55. So the price needs to be adjusted yet.
I hope that the deal is not dead.
This is an excellent router and it compares favorably to the Linksys wrt54GL. I have both and although the Asus 520GU looks small it is very versatile, i.e. can be used as an AP, client bridge (with DD-WRT software) and of course as a router with print server capability.
I did not receive the...
The HP DV7 OP linked to has very good customer feedback at notebookreview.com
There is a $500 coupon somewhere that will get you a DV7 from HP with BD and a 9400 CPU for about the same amount.
The Gateway P-7811FX is the best Cost/Gaming notebook at this time.
:D
@allisolm,
Thanks. I was actually buying and rebuying several times since I had no idea what went wrong.
Enjoy your Dark Knight. It has received glorious reviews in today NYT.
:D
Yep, but they not cheap relatively speaking. I have a WD EACS 1 TB in my Tivo and have been looking to add a second one but the price was higher than the Samsung F1 or the Hitachi Deskstar.
I was going to buy this and flash DD-WRT to make a bridge for my network. But there is a very high reported incident of hardware failures, i.e green light = dead.
I will pass on this.
True. But the Gateway FX 6080 and the FX6031 (reviewed by Anandtech) are supposed to be extremely easy to upgrade as compared to for example a Dell Inspiron.
The factory default is 9X266 at a VID defined on your retail box.
Your 3 scenarios are about the same 2.7-2.8 GHz performance so the heat will be about the same. This is similar to the VI (voltage x current) in electrical calculation of power (watts).
There are OCers who will try to...
