Doh, the 4 prong connector was the issue all along!
Although this is like the 5th rig I've built, I feel like a noob now.

Good suggestion. Followed your advice and removed the motherboard from the case, but still having the problem. Removed all but the CPU and still no POST or video.

Just got my new Asus A8v Deluxe Motherboard in and installed but I get no POST or Video at all.
After I had first put everything together and hit the switch on the power supply, everything came on without me hitting the case power switch. Thinking I might have connected the switch header...

I live in an older house that uses only 2 wire electrical cabling, however the outlets are 3 prong. There's just nothing connected to the ground prong. I ran some good 12/3 Romex cable to use a dedicated line for just my pc with nothing else on the circuit.
Gonna be building my rig for some EQ2 action myself but I'm going with a AMD 64 chip.
My suggestions:
1. Antec True 550 for the Power supply. I don't like taking chances on the power supply. Only Antec or Enermax will do for me.
2. The Antec case fans I purchased have both 3 and 4...

The system you've lined up is geared entirely for gaming.
A Pentium 4 w/ HyperThreading will perform a bit better for that purpose. Thats part of what HyperThreading was intended to do.
Also if your not gaming, that 6800 GT is a huge waste. It wont play DVD's or display...
I normally use my machine in dim light but not totally dark. If the reflectivness is negligable under those conditions, that Sony will be very appealing.
JackBurton: Do you mind posting an evaluation of your Sony after you get it? I looked at a few at CompUSA but did not like how reflective the screen was compared to others. There was nothing actually running on it so I could not tell how much of an issue this would be.
Being someone who has never taken a typing class and does not use proper form when typing, the "Natural" keyboards drive me crazy. If you actually type with correct form, you might like one. Best to try one out before you buy.
Not sure what the exact differences are, but usually with Enermax the differences are cable shielding and the amps available on the 12v rail (which is usually more than most manufacturers).

WilliamK: The one I linked is a different model, but the one your considering may also be just as reflective. No way to really tell without either seeing it in person or finding a convincing photo as the one from THG.
That doesn't sound right to me. Your HD and CD Roms run off the 12v rail. I could be wrong but I dont see a hard drive operating at all on 8 volts. I'd check the motherboard monitor or your bios. One of those should show the voltages as well.

If I were you, I would hold tight for just a little longer. BenQ also a 12ms 19inch LCD and I would guess its probably a good deal cheaper than the Sony although this Canada website is the only place i've seen them so far.

I may not even purchase this BenQ but its good to know that technology has progressed enough that manufacturers are producing panels capable of 12ms! So hopefully we will see other labels (perhaps with better warranty) soon enough.
