Well I figured out that if I install a stick into slot 1 or 2 and jiggle it a little it will at least boot up for a minute - then it fails again. Definately the slots are bad. GRR..

Thermaltake W0070 430w. Why would this give me a memory error in only two slots? Slots 3-4 work fine.

That's what I was afraid of. The command rate is set for 2T, all the timing settings are right, etc. It simply won't boot with ANY setting if I install the sticks in either of the first 2 slots. Biostar website, here I come.

Memory problem with Biostar Tforce 6100-939

I have a new Tforce 6100-939 board with 2 X 1gb sticks of Corsair XMS TWINX memory. The system will only boot if the memory is installed in dim slots "B1" and "B2". I get the long error beep if install any memory (1 or both sticks) in slots "A1" or "A2". BTW this is running an Athlon 64...

I'm looking at finally upgrading to a socket 939 system, although on a budget. Q: What's the difference between a Athlon 64 3500+ "Venice" as opposed to "Clawhammer"? Newegg has them both for the same price.

Potentially it is a problem, but that's a removable, optional cage. I count a total of 12 bays: 4 X 5.25" 2 X 3.5" external 4 X 3.5" internal lower front 2 X 3.5" internal upper rear, optional Plus there is an optional PCI port up front, for game or COM ports, or what not. If...

Yep. I'm not sure who actually makes the case, as most cases are re-brands of someone elses anyway...(Antec=Cheiftec, etc.) Maybe Akasa makes it and Savrow licenses it or ??? Anyhoo, damn lucky brits.

Thermaltake Silent Cat 92mm fans...

Anyone use these? The 92mm version lists some specs that seem to good to be true: 2500 +/- 20% rpm Max air flow 52.24 cfm Noise 21 dBA (!!!) Are these as quiet as advertised? If so they kick the crap out of any other 92mm fan for the cfm-to-noise ratio. I'm looking for a quiet...

Antec SLK2650-BQE case micro review

Just got this case yesterday. UPS had football practice with it on the way to my house. When I opened the squashed up box and inspected the case the rear panel was slightly bent inward where the PSU attaches. I was able to tweek it back though, so I decided not to return it. Nice case...

Take a look at this one: http://www.ebuyer.com/customer...uid=137799&_LOC=US $65 shipped to CA It has a 350W single fan "quiet edition" PSU, 120mm exhaust, etc. The shipping will take longer than Newegg, but the prices on most of the Antec cases they offer are better.

Is the Antec Sonata still the "standard" for quiet cases?

Ahh yes... The Sonata is about 2" longer front to back, and 1/4" taller. Around my desk, the small boxes get the most smiles though.

The Sonata seemed like a money pit to me. I just ordered an Antec SLK-2650BQE - it's around the same size as the Sonata, but much cheaper. ($63 shipped to CA from ebuyer.com) It has the 120mm fan w/ gaskets, the HDD rubber mounts (only 2 HHD spots though) and the SL350S PSU, (single fan)...

Antec SLK2650-BQE... PSU specs???

Hello... I've ordered the Antec SLK2650-BQE from ebuyer.com. ($65 shipped to CA). However, I looked at the PSU specs on the pic posted at Newegg, (350w Smartpower) and it shows the +12v rail as being 21A instead of 16A like every other 350W Antec PSU. Anyone have this case? What does yours...

Antec SLK1650

I saw this post the other day, and then today while in CompUSA I see they have that EXACT case, in silver, with a window, for around $40. It's a Cheiftec/Antec/Chenming tower with a cheaper front bezel. Not too shabby, it has the same rails and the 120mm mounts. (really, it is IDENTICAL)...
