Understood and I did read that but sometimes drivers can be different between 32bit and 64bit and it's possible that the drive running with 64bit could cause the BSOD issue.
Also MDE, when you were running 64bit, did you get all the Windows error logs so you could diagnosis and pinpoint the...
Sorry but this isn't a good choice with built-in Intel video card... I would understand if you also linked a video card to go with it but buying a pc like this and expecting the onboard video to do anything more low-end games is too much.
Like I said overall not bad but you need to expect to...
what about the cd/dvd drive attached? Have you tried a different dvd drive or usb instead of the one you have attached currently? From the sounds of it, it seems it is either mobo/cpu issue or dvd drive.
What tests have you ran on your hard drives to verify there isn't anything wrong with them?
If you have anything from when you originally ordered it, that may have it or taking off the side of the case, it should be listed on the powersuppy easily visible with the side removed.
Thinking about it though, you will probably be ok with the power supply you have considering the card you...
Didn't specify that initially. That's good though 8gig should work well. The only other suggestion I have is maybe look at a faster CPU for not much more. The CPU you have listed is quad core for 130 right?
I was looking and found six core for 40 bucks more at 169.99...
Yes that person was nuts. The key is if you were looking at the top of the line and/or bleeding edge just released video cards than yes they can be very expensive. However, what I recommended is the 9800 series which are also a few years old but faster than your 7950 video card. The new...
I don't know how the actual game will run but I've been running the beta very well with an ATI Radeon 5870 2gb video card. But I do have a 2.9 quad-core cpu, 16gb ram, and 450gb Raptor 10K RPM HD at 1920x1200 resolution.
My 2 cents, I would recommend starting with 8gig ram instead of 4gig. The ram is cheap enough that there isn't a huge gap in cost between 4gig and 8gig now.
What are the other 3 sticks in the pc now? It sounds like you probably have 2 1gig sticks and 1 2gig stick. I would recommend pricing out replacing (the 2 1gig sticks) and bumping the system up to the max 8gig after you upgrade to 64bit.
The person who made the comment about the video card...
Thanks for the help. It seems like it was a USB external drive issue. Once I disconnected all of them and rebooted it took less than a minute.
I would like to know if I should change my Sata settings from IDE to ACHI or should I leave it as is?
When I put in the new drive, it was a fresh install of Windows. If I were to do it again, it would again be a fresh install and I wouldn't be using a backup or cloning for this machine.
well if need be I'm still at a point that it wouldn't be difficult to reimage (fresh win 7 install). I can say I've never changed that setting so I'm doubtful that would be the issue but I figured best to include that in case there was a chance it could cause an issue.
Typically, all my sata ports are used. For the test above I had disconnected the other 2 sata drives and left the other 2 sata ports active because one was for the dvd drive and the other was for esata port on the front of the case.
What I didn't add above is that my sata ports are set to IDE...
Ok so, my computer runs pretty well except that anytime I have to reboot it, it takes 4 minutes to go from Bios splash screen to login. Over 3 and a half minutes sitting on the windows black screen with the logo.

With this update is there no way to change the default option of 30 topics per page? I know with the old forum you could but there isn't an option for it now. Yes I mean topics and not posts within a topic.
So currently I am with gate.com, not a great service at all. I very much dislike them based on performance of running just a plain phpbb forum and lack of tools available.
What I currently have with them is this:
5gig storage space
data transfer 200gig a month
500gig mailboxes (500...
I've been running SEP11 for a few months. Not impressed, too large of a footprint for started. Way too much processing overhead. And after having it set to auto install/update on client machines, I still find a fair number that requires a manual run of the managed install package.
I'm...
This is for anyone in Phoenix AZ. I am doing this for a friend so if interested, let me know via PM and I'll give you her email address. Understand she works for an IT recruiting company but this is a need to fill job that you won't get any run around using my friend (she got me my job and...
Corkyg: Another good try but I am the IT and no there is nothing that is monitoring. We only use the Norton Anti-virus and not security suite.
As you can see this an odd issue that is still an annoyance thus far.
Please let me know if you have any other suggestions or questions about the...
Hey everyone, thanks for the feedback let me address each:
mpil: I prefer not to turn off the drive because I store some larger files I access and there is a task to backup "my documents" folder every night to it. I'm not pulling backups from the external drive. My backups are run from a...
I have a WD usb 1TB drive. I use Win XP with Office 2003. In outlook 2003, when I click on messages, especially the most recent/new message. My computer accesses my external drive for 15-30 seconds before displaying the message.
I've been unable to articulate the right question searching...
I have to disagree on the shirt.woot.com site. Granted not all are good but I have seen some good ones. Heck I've bought about 3-5 shirts from there.
The hot wings one is freaking great!
Am I the only one who has been severely disappointed with the last several woot-offs?
They seem to be short and overall lacking the quality of products and seems like they are recycling a few products at least 1-2 times during the same woot-off.
I worked for a banking software company, I installed the the servers that drove atm machines. I can tell you that, it all depends on the bank or credit union on what kind of bills are dispensed. A lot of places do only 20's but there are tons that do 20's and 10's and bit smaller number doing...
I used to work for a bank software company. Between the internal journal on the atm as well as the system on the bank end to track all the transactions, they can easily identify the transactions of those that got 20's instead of 5's.
Majority of atms are controlled from a remote computer...
Aside from taking advantage of taking a free language class, do you have any goals that would apply your language skills? Like a specific industry or career? French isn't too hard to learn, I took it in high school but I basically only remember the cuss words I taught myself, hehe.
Bottom...
Depends on the airline and it depends if you are in their Frequent Flyer program. It will vary but for instance, American Airlines will give you the finger if you ask to upgrade to First Class if you don't have status (at least last time I tried years ago before I had platinum status), other...
I pretty much have to echo what has already been said, it's sad, she looked so good before her nose job. I thought she was absolutely gorgeous but now her nose throws off her look, not good at all anymore.
