Need a good pair of earbuds!!

Problem downloading pictures from my digital camera

You can solve your problem and extend the life of your camera at the same time as you vastly increase the speed of your downloads. Just buy a card reader and use that. USB 2.0 or Firewire is best if you have those ports, otherwise, USB 1 will still be faster than downloading from the camera...

Any good methods to help pc not be an inhome dust filter?

I found that the foam filters clog REALLY quickly. Now I use squares of cheesecloth, as used in cooking. They catch most of the dust, don't clog so quickly, give pretty good airflow, and are so cheap as to approach free. Lisa

Anyone know anything about Max Theater

It's a scam. I've seen this, or a very similar device, reviewed, and it's crap. A regular TV isn't bright enough to have it's image expanded that much, unless you are okay with a dim image that you can only really see in an entirely dark room. You just don't get something for nothing. Lisa

Wireless networking is whacked up

LinkSys WEP Newb Question..

Cooling problem in PowerMac casing

A couple of ideas: You could replace the speed controlled 120mm fan next to the PCI slots with one that will run at full speed, since the Mac guts aren't there to control the speed. Or, cut a blowhole in the top panel with an exhaust fan. Lisa

Best method to clean LCD monitor?

I use 99% Isopropyl Alcohol with water, 1 part Iso to 9 parts water. After getting the dust off of the screen, I spray a bit of the cleaner on to a clean, lint-free Microfiber cloth, and gently wipe the screen. Lisa

The big enemy of laptop batteries is heat. The design of the M68XX series allows the battery to not get very hot, barely even warm. You can leave the battery in. Taking it out would not affect the speed, but would open a new avenue for dust and dirt to enter. Lisa

If it's a part of the M53XX series, from the original M5305, it's probably a decent machine, pretty thin, not too light. Many M53XX machines suffered from overheating problems, but those were fixed by Emachines under warranty. Good screen though. Lisa

Painting Inside of Case - Tips?

As with painting anything, it's prudent to make sure the surface is clean first off. Soap and water, or Iso Alchohol will do it. Sanding is a good idea when you want the paint to really stick. Otherwise, as you said. Lisa

Asus K8V SE - help installing IDE SATA driver

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but yes, you still need the drivers, but you need the ATA mode drivers rather than the RAID mode ones. When the Windows installer says to press F6 if you need to use other drivers and you don't press F6, you're not going to be using that/those drive(s)...

As you have found, if you don't load the RAID drivers during the install, you won't see the RAID array. Having reloaded XP a third time on this computer, the Promise controller simply won't work without the drivers loaded during XP install. Lisa

Well, I finally got a response from Promise Tech. It seems that yes, one can have two striped arrays, one mirroring the other, but you have to set up the whole 4 drive array all at once. And of course figure out how to keep 4 drives cool :) Lisa
